Hello i'm posting on the insomnia thread and they have been amazing but i'm really struggling at the moment and need some advice about sertraline.

Story so far:
Had DS 8 months ago, at first I was fine but then he stopped sleeping and we all got very stressed. Then he started sleeping through but I couldn't and developed Chronic insomnia. I average 2-3 hours a night. I tried herbal stuff, nightol, sominex, changes to diet, exercise, self help books and CDs, Paul McKenna etc. Nothing works. Finally went to my GP 2 weeks ago who diagnosed PND and gave me 50mg of Sertraline and sleeping pills.

The first week of sertraline I was fine except for a dodgy tummy. The sleeping pills were fine too.

Week two I feel really awful. The sleeping tabs aren't working as well as they did and I am seriously getting very frightened. Last night I finally got to sleep at 4:30am. I feel like ending it all and i'm having very dark thoughts. I'm even more anxious than before.

What I need to know is should I keep taking the Sertraline? If you have taken it did it work for you ? and how long did it take?

I just have no idea what to do next. I'm seeing my GP this afternoon.

Thank you in advance.
