Where can my mum get help?

My mum is in her late sixties and has spent her entire life feeling she was unloved and unwanted by her mother. This has manifested itself in lots of ways over the years (not sure all the detail is really relevant here) but I really think it would do her some good to talk to a professional about it and make some sense of her very complex feelings. It breaks my heart she's spent her whole life feeling like this. She feels silly going to the GP, I think the fact she's said that indicates she's up for getting some help, but where can she go? Am really clueless so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I think a GP probably is the first port of call for a counselling referral, other than that your mum could pay for private counselling.
I hope she get's the help she needsSmile

Thanks pelvic floor. If she were to get private counselling where would she start looking?

www.bacp.co.uk/

Have a search on there unless you know someone who personally recommends a therapist.
