OCD or need to get out more?

I like a tidy clean house. However, it never feels clean or tidy enough - I am clearing up all day and I still see dirt! I could get a cleaner but I feel like I've failed somehow if I do. How can I just enjoy my house without feeling like a sl*t if the kitchen floors havent been done that day! Feels like housework is ruling my life! I dont want to do it but I feel that I HAVE to!

Can you limit yourself to cleaning to just a set period each day - e.g. an hour after lunch or after the DC have gone to bed. You are not allowed to clean the rest of the time, but during that hour you can do as much as you want.

Not sure if this is OCD, as OCD has a medical definition I think, but it may be that you are slightly on the spectrum, if that makes sense.

And yes, getting out the house will def help as you won;t be there to see the dirt! Go round to friends' houses for coffee, or just go for nice walks. I bet you don't scrutinse your friends' houses in the same way you scrutinise your own!!
