I've not been fully diagnosed yet but is in the process. I had a mania stage back in Sept which resulted in a massive come-down and an unwanted pregnancy. I had a termination. Which when I'm "normal" am totally and utterly against. Now I just found out I'm pregnant again. Termination is not an option now as I haven't been hit by a massive come down. Although I think I've gone to hypermania instead of a full on depression episode.

Oh dear. I think you really need some expert advice on whether continuing with the pregnancy is the best for you - presumably you can't take your meds if you're pregnant?

Whatever happens, you need to think about contraception - would your partner agree to a vasectomy?

So sorry you find yourself in this situation, but I don't think you should make any decisions until you've spoken to a professional.

Hi I have bipolar and I am currently pg. Do you have support from the father? After this pg I intend to have a coil fitted which means there are no pills or patches or condoms for me to sabotage or forget.

I suggest speaking to a professional as if you do terminate the stress can send you on a episode, if you continue with the pg you may find you remain stable some women do me included. You do need to tell your psychiatrist, so your moods can be monitered to see whether you are one of the lucky ones who remain stable.

However I doubt a pyschiatrist will start you on meds while you are pg so if you go through with this you will have o wait for medication.
