Just wondering if anyone has any experience of Gestalt therapy, and if so, what they made of it? I learnt a bit about this approach today, and thought it sounded great. Am considering going to see a therapist, but would love to hear about any personal experiences good or bad to help me make up my mind.

Hi Ovumahead. I have about 2 years of Gestalt therapy under my belt.

I have found it frustrating at times, because I am a 'do do do' person and Gestalt is very much about the moment (ie being in a session) and how you feel when you think/talk about things.

But I think that ultimately I have ended up in the same place that I would have been with 2 years of any therapy iyswim?

And being still and really analysing feelings and thoughts is what I need!
