Yes, I suffered for a few years although I was OK to leave the house if I was with someone else. I found counselling helpful and I was prescribed citalopram and lorazepam which worked well.

I joined a support forum as well, it was a while ago but I think it was this one- www.anxietyforum.net/

I didn't tell anyone for ages because I didn't think they would understand but actually I found that all my friends were really supportive and made the effort to come and visit me.

It took me a while to recover, I still have days where I don't feel like going out but I found that counting the good days on the calendar helped because I could see that the gaps between bad days were getting longer.

Good luck with everything, you can always PM me if you want more details about how I coped (don't want to put it all on a public forum) :)

Thanks EauRouge I have sent you a message. With me it just happened one day where I went out and started to have a panic attack. Now I don't go out at all on my own.
