Coming of Trazadone

Has anyone had any withdrawal effects from coming off these?
I have to reduce mine by 50mg a week until I'm off them and then reduce my Citalapram until I'm off them so I can start on a new antidepressant.
My anxiety is really bad this week, worse than normal, today I have been doubled up with pain in my stomach, being sick and struggling to breath.
Is this normal?
Will it get easier or is it going to get worse before it gets better?
I'm dreading tomorrow when I have to reduce it more.

Hi, has your dr told you to reduce it in this way? When I have reduced some medication I have had to do it over a much longer period of time, or given something to help me ... could you contact the dr and tell them how the reduction is affecting you so that you can get some help if needed, or be reassured that it is only temporary.

I have had no problems coming off citalopram, never had trazadone I am afraid.

Thanks, psychiatrist said last week to reduce it by 50mg a week til I was off them, I see him in a couple of weeks when he will start the reduction of citalopram.

Have got cpn tomorrow so will ask her what to do about it, I cant go through a day like today, my kids were scared because I wasin so much pain :(

Asking cpn tomorrow sounds a very good idea... as changing medication doesn't always happen the same for everyone, so important cpn can monitor it and help you do what is best for you.

Spoke to cpn and she thinks it was a really bad anxiety attack, obviously although it didn't feel like the Trazadone was helping it was taking the worst of my anxiety away.
Just need to get through next few weeks until they are out my system and can start on new ones.

Hi, New to this site, but need some advice on withdrawl symptoms from citalapram.
Been on 20mg for 4 years then upt my dose to 40mg about 6 months ago.
After being severly exhausted for most of the day, weight gain and immense lethargy , but at the same time having a more settled and stable life, i decided i needed to come of the meds.

I reduced from 40mg to 20mg, 3 weeks ago, fine until 3 days ago. Then i got a severe headache, migrane. Temples being held in a vice like pain....this continues all day, no tablets are touching it. Im feeling nausea and dizzy and a little.. less tolerant of situations.
Any advice would be a help as next week i have to reduce to 10mg for a month.

Hi Emma please start a new thread and put in the title what you want help with ie Please help - citalopram withdrawal symptoms.

This thread will only be read by people who know something about trazodone but there are a few hundred citalopram users out there.

Including my DH by the way who got bad headaches when he started taking it and dreads coming off it as he knows he will go through a headache phase again.
