Just had a flyer through about a course on mindfulness has anyone tried this technique also is there a system for validating courses -- how do I know that the £155 fee is money well spent with this practitioner...

I learned basic mindfulness techniques from my counsellor and use them mostly to help with occassional panic attacks.

What are you hoping to get out of it?

I would be very wary of "having a flyer through" that is mentioning a fee of £155. Where did this flyer come from. There is a book on Amazon (haven't read it but been recommended b a friend "The Mindful Way out of Depression) its under a tenner I think. If you look on Amazon there will I'm sure be other books on the subject.

I learned something of mindfulness from my CPN as part of CBT that we were working on.

I think any practitioner who has to advertise in this way is suspect to be honest. You can look him/her up on google. Good therapists in my experience do not advertise by sending out flyers.

Let the buyer beware!

What NanaNina says - seems a lot of money.
