I have been, this year finally diagnosed.
This was after most of my adult life has been spent in chronic depression and to be frank sheer fuckin hell.
I am so relieved that after many 'experts' etc someone fantastic came along and actually listened.I have been having intensive C.B.T since march ish.
Just wondered if anyone else has experience of B.D.D.

It lies so closely to eating disorders that i am not sure many GPs would diagnose BDD separately Pelvic.

I did an online test and ticked yes to all but one of the things it asked so according to that i have BDD. But i slip in and out of EDs and have done for 20 years so it wouldn't be diagnosed for me as part of my eating issues are related to how i look.

I have been diagnosed as a severe case by a psychologist. My B.D.D relates to my height.

I've recently been diagnosed with this, after some very difficult times. 'Sheer fucking hell' is an apt description. It's taken nearly 10 years to get an official diagnosis and proper help (previously I had been diagnosed with episodes of severe depression with OCD tendencies).

How is the CBT going? I've just commenced a course, and am trying to remain hopeful that it will help.

I really hope it's working for you. I wouldn't wish this illness on anybody.

Hi Kalypso Smile
Sorry i have only just checked my thread

Your story sounds similar to mine in terms of getting a proper diagnosis.

The C.B.T is great but i am terrified of my therapy sessions ending.I know it eventually has to but i'm not too confident in my ability to carry the C.B.T on myself.
