Hi,

Just wanted to ask if there's any mums out there who's juggling mothehood while suffering from OCD. I have just been diagnosed with OCD and will be starting treatment soon. Doctor has suggested medication but I am not too sure. I am finding it really tough dealing with it while looking after my daughter who is 16 weeks old. The main problem I have is about cleaniness esp when it comes to my daughter and the constant fear of contamination. Making bottles and changing nappies are becoming really difficult. Finding it hard getting through each day.

Hi Pixie,

Did you have OCD before you had children. I think my OCD was triggered by pregnancy hormones and since having my daugther it has got worse. I saw a Psychiatrist last week and she said I should consider medication as it will have control my thoughts. I will begin therapy soon and I hope that alone with help because I really dont want to be on medication. How do you cope on a daily basis? It takes me hours just to make a bottle because I keep thinking I have done it wrong or the bottle/teat weren't clean enough etc.
