I have changed my name for this one. Just want some reassurance really while the bad bits pass.
Have been on Seroxat for most of time since dd born (8 years). Ex dh left a few months ago and because I was feeling so bad, not coping at all, GP has just put the dose up, at my request. Only 3 days in and I am wired, can't sleep, can't keep still, manically tidying, still feeling sad etc but in a way it's blocked off. Worst bit is feelings of wanting to self harm to get rid of the agitation. I won't - I've been through all this before. Anyone else remember these side effects? How did you deal with them? I know they will pass but it's still hard.

hi, i was on seroxat for a time but came off them cos i didnt like the way they made me feel, i think u should tell your gp-if u can about the self harm bit and see if he can switch your meds on to something else, sorry not much help

wired, please ask to stop the seroxat.
i don't know if you have read anything about them in the press but they have already been banned from being prescribed to teenagers and they are trying to get them banned completely!
side effects include: self harm, suicide and many other things

GSK who manufacture seroxat have been in BIG trouble over trying to hide the fact that they knew about these side effects before releasing the drug

please change to something else. you have been on them for far too long anyway... 8 years?????
they obviously aren;t working for you

are you geting any kind of therapy? counselling really, really, really will help... the ad's (if you find one that helps) will make you think clearer and make things more bearable... but nothing will help until you get to the root of the problem
