Have been battling pnd on and off for a few years (kids are 15, 11, 7, 3) and due to a really bad year (dad with cancer, marraige not good, dd3 with behaviour probs) I am back on ad's (sad)

Gp has put me on setraline and has now doubled the dose to 100mg. I was on 50mg for 4 weeks and 100mg for the last week. Anyone taking these and how effective were they?

Worried that ad's will not be enough to give me the boost i need to get on top of things.

5 kids, gcse's coming for one, ds3 is such hard work, ds1 is a toddler and draining Sad
Dh helps loads but has a new job (thankfully after a year not working!) so i don't want to put to much pressure on him.

I struggle to even bathe regularly Blush and feel like i'm letting the kids down....

I used to have it and found it the best medication I have had (physical reaction meant had to switch sadly for me). Could you find some support with children from Surestart etc, practical help/advice/support to help, or is that not practical for you?

I was told medication is partly there to help, but I had to make changes, write action plans etc.

nikkk · 18/10/2010 19:18

if anyone has any experiance like this or advise please tellSmile

MiasmARGGHHH · 18/10/2010 19:21

Constant noise is enough to make anyone fear for their sanity :(

There most definatly are anti d's that can be taken during pregnancy. Your doctor seems
To be expecting rather a lot of you if he thinks you can just stop !

nikkk · 18/10/2010 19:24

doc said oh just stop taking them straight away, with a serrious worried look.i went back a week after and said i was struggling.he said go day miss a day then miss 2 days, then 3 and so on.

nikkk · 18/10/2010 19:27
