Does anyone know if this side-effect diminishe over time?
I started taking it three days ago (at night) and the nausea wakes me up.

Hi joanie, I don't know much about the side effects but have also just started taking citalopram (day 2) so we can compare notes if you like?

No nausea yet, am feeling quite tired though.

I had nausea to start with, it calmed down after a week to ten days IIRC.

meant to say - you are supposed to build up to your full dose gradually so you adjust to it, - but maybe you are doing thatSmile

What dose are you on? 10mg is a good dose to start on and then you may still feel nauseous but that should settle within a week or two.

Apologies for not getting back sooner bit rude that.
I realised I was on escitalopram not citalopram and on the lowest dose of 5mg. Not too sure what the difference is - hopefully an improved version of the original!

Nausea is going, feeling quite tired but at least I sleep at night now.

and everything tastes really salty.
