Because I.ve been having some terrible terrible outbursts lately.
Its not at the kids but its directed at the public. The red mist descends and I'm just not myself not violent but very sweary, evil and shouty There was an incident the other night.. but I'm too embarrassed to post it.

Its really really scaring me and its not nice to see. I just feel so angry all the time

Go back to your doctor and report these incidents. Maybe you need to change the medication. Maybe you need Lithium as well?

Yes I believe it can, I am on fluoxetine (weaning off but that's a whole other story) and yes I believe increased aggression can happen. Go back to your doctor definately.

Fluoxetine can make people feel more aggressive, I'd definitely speak to your GP and maybe try a different antidepressant. It doesn't really sound like you'd need Lithium unless you were having terrible mood swings and even then there's nicer alternatives than Lithium!

I went to see the doc this morning and he said that he wants me to remain on prozac as it is helping my depression but wants me to go to anger management councilling instead Hmm I really don't know. I have noticed my outbursts are worse when I'm due on and in actual fact I came on today.

I am going to keep a close eye on this and if I even have one more I'm straight back to the docs

I've learnt the hard way to trust my own feelings, do my own research and that doctors don't always know everything especially about anti depressants, reckon your right to monitor it and see what you think.

sheep, I soo so feel for you. I am having very similar issues at the minute, and have done for a while Sad. Not sure whether it's the prozac, evil PMT (it is always at it's peak for a few days before I come on) or whether there is something like biploar disorder going on too as there are definate cycles to it; the last one was just under 3 months ago and I can feel it building again Sad

As for being embarrassed to post, I am there with you Blush. My DC are terrified of shouty mummy BlushBlush but once the anger starts to build I am finding it really hard to nip it in the bud. CBT hasn't helped at all. Am waiting for a further referral up the CMH ladder.

one thing though, my dose of prozac was doubled after my last bad depressive bout and the evilness is a little better....lasts for a few days rather than from ovulation to coming on as it was before. Maybe I just need more still?

ADs can have this kind of effect - when I'm on sertraline I sometimes feel very cocky and overly sure of myself and behave out of character as a result.
