Why am I being such a PITA?

I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment. I can't concentrate on work and keeping missing deadlines, being moody with family, don't feel I can make plans for the future, not really eating much. Is this normal? I keep trying to make everything work but my heart isn't in anything.

History of thyroid probs in my family - could this be something to do with it?

Any insight would be great, I feel like an utter waste of space atm.

Thanks

it could be worth a trip to the gp for blood tests to rule out vitamin deficiency or as you say thyroid probs or other. Or is something else missing from your life?

*keep, not keeping

I don't know, I work alone now (freelance) and that makes me feel down I know.

It's been a rough year but a large part of that is because I have been so listless and lost all my ambition.

I also work freelance from home and while it has huge benefits the lack of social interaction is an absolute grind. If I didn't have the children to think of I wouldn't be doing it any more. It can really get you down I know. Do you have opportunities for socialising?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/08/2010 16:58

Not a lot. I don't have DC yet, but am desperately short of cash do feel I have to plough on with it. But then I'm making a crap job of it. I used to really care about the quality of what I did, now I'm just a slacker, and not even in a fun way.

time to explore other options before you have DC perhaps?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/08/2010 17:11

you are right. Do you think this is enough to account for the not eating etc?

I've definitely had times when I didn't feel like eating or doing anything much, basically because I was unfulfilled with what I was doing. You need some inspiration!! Sounds like a bit of a cliché but you could find an interesting hobby or just take yourself out of your comfort zone for a bit, it might help you reassess things

Yeah, a plan would help. Thanks for talking it over with me. Am going to docs tomorrow morning for a blood test too.

Do you have contact with other home-workers at all? It's like being a student but worse!

No, nobody understands what I do (translating). It's been a bit of an effort to create a social life but now I have enough adult company to keep me from going insane!!
