Hey Skoobie do you need them for mental health problems? It is possible but not easy. Fo incapacity benefit just make an appointment at the benefits office/job centre plus. If you are thinking of applying for DLA it is best to contact Citizen's Advice as the application criteria are very strict and the form is a b*tch to fill in. You'd need to prove that you need someone with you most or all of the time and they would expect you to have the support of a psychiatrist.

Incapacity Benefit has been replaced by Empolyment and Support Allowance. I'm almost certain you can apply for this online at the DWP website, but then they will expect you to come in for 'work focussed interviews' etc, the point of which as if you couldn't guess is to get you off ESA.

I second asking CAB to help with the DLA form, it's long and repetitive. You only get DLA if you have personal care or mobility needs, so you need to really accentuate that you need someone to watch over you to keep you safe, are unable to cope with ordinary living stuff like cooking a meal or going out alone, that kind of thing. They are allowed to take 3 months to process the forms so if you can I'd get it done asap. Good luck.
