Edgetop - I get this too. Sometimes at work I get awful thoughts about ds and dd. Then I have to phone the Nursery. I sometimes get vivid flashes in my mind of us all dying in a crash. Horrible.

I suppose it's anxiety attacks of a sort. Reallydon't know what to say to help.

It could be panic attacks or anxiety attacks, or it could be a form of OCD, particularly if you have other similar feelings or if you have rituals that you use. I think it might be worth having a chat with the GP about it, he might be able to recommend some form of counselling or other treatment to help.

If it's something like OCD or panic attacks, they don't only affect people who are depressed. I have OCD and it didn't come on until I was in my 30s, and at a time when I was at my happiest.

It's obviously causing you some distress, though, and a sympathetic counsellor might be able to find the root cause and help you to deal with it.
