Eviction/Citalopram/panic attacks

My psych says its normal to be feeling this way.
Evicted next Thurs, single mum to 2 dds. No support. Been on citalopram since Aug '09 40mg.

Recently, Ive been having awful panic attacks, like being in a dark tunnel, someone clutching my throat and I cant breathe.

Not even sure why Im writing this...but Citalopram surely should be stopping the panic?
Really not feeling well at all, want to hide in my bed forever.

Sorry you're feeling so awful and it sounds totally undestandable with such a stressful situation. I hate panic attacks so can sympathize. Don't take citalopram so can't advise, but perhaps it is the extra stress you're under?

Im wondering whether my meds need tweaking a bit more as have never suffered with panic before now.
I know you understand, but never had one before Monday (well not as serious) where all I remember was falling to the floor, gasping for air (like crying but no tears) and dd2 standing over me,holding me. I honeslty thought I was going to die.

My psych says its all normal to be feeling this way, which I do understand, but if I had more RL support, the panic wouldnt be happening.

Never been so scared in my life. I saw it happen, I felt it happen...and I had no damn control and it scared the kids...

Sounds like a horribly scary episode. Would your doctor or psych up your medication for the short term at all?
