I managed to lose 1lb in August despite enjoying lots of summer fun. Hoping to get back on track once the dc return to school and pick up the pace again. Would like to be slimmer for Christmas.

Me..I absolutely need to lose weight. I managed to lose quite a bit doing IF before and felt better for it. Have lost my way and determined to stick to it this time. I've piked the weight on since having my kids but my youngest is now 3!

GameOfJones · 01/09/2024 16:15

Hello, joining from the last thread. I'm sad DDs are back to school tomorrow but the one bonus is I'm really looking forward to getting back into a routine!

Clearingaspace · 01/09/2024 18:07

Thanks for the thread @ItRainsItPours i think I need some baby steps so I am aiming for a 14 hour fast tomorrow and will check in.

I would love to lose a stone plus my regain carb / water weight lbs by Christmas!

self care will be to use skin care tonight - I am ok with morning routine but generally crawl in to bed without cleansing etc which is probably a bit gross!

HarpQuartet · 01/09/2024 18:31

Hello everybody, new month, new thread, new motivation 💪🏻 thank you @ItRainsItPours for kicking things off.

I'm about to go for a slow 5k run, I've finished eating for the day and I've made a delicious and healthy lunch for tomorrow. It's true that my motivation comes and goes, but while it's here I'm going to grab it!

Note for comparison at a later date: 77.4kg

HotSpciedLatte · 01/09/2024 19:47

Hello I’d love to join for accountability.

like others I’ve found fasting the only thing that works for me but I have to have a skinny latte on my (extended fast days) or I just cannot do it.

62 kg for reference and look and feel my best at 57 kg

ItRainsItPours · 01/09/2024 22:29

Welcome to all old and new. I feel slightly bad that I am really looking forward to that point this week where both dc are back at school and the house will be quiet. We have all enjoyed the Summer but boy am I ready for some alone time. Even if all I do is some work or cleaning, just to be able to plan a few hours and have it pan out as planned.

imperialqueen · 02/09/2024 12:01

I keep joining support threads to lose weight and then lose my motivation.

I hope this time to keep updating even when if I have had days I've not eat well.

I am 77kg or 11 and a half stone and would love to be 10 stone for Xmas or even 10 and a half.

Hoping to do 18/6 but snacking/eating at night is my downfall, hoping to report in every day.

Good luck to everyone already on the thread and about to join it.

16 and a bit weeks until Xmas.

donedreaming · 02/09/2024 12:38

Hi I joined countdown to September and here I am on the way to Christmas. Holidays are over and inevitably some wight gain. Who knew that ice cream, cake and hotel buffet breakfast was fattening!

My first day fasting in several years today so it's proving a bit tough. But I'm pleased to be hear. I'm drinking lots of green tea and sparkling water and am pleased to be at midday already. I'm working towards losing about 8/9 kgs to get me back into a healthy BMI and help out with the achey knees too!

GameOfJones · 02/09/2024 14:53

I would also like to aim to have lost a stone by Christmas. My general plan is to have either porridge with fruit or vegetable soup for lunch around 12pm and then a regular, sensible dinner with the kids in the evening around 5.30pm. Black coffee, black tea or water outside of that. Limit snacks and alcohol and get back to the gym and my evening walks.

I am currently around 14st having started at 15st 1lb so another stone by Christmas would mean 2 stone lost this year.

ItRainsItPours · 02/09/2024 16:35

A stone sounds like a reasonable amount to lose in 16 weeks. I will also set that as a goal, though having lost lots earlier in the year I would be happy to just maintain.
I am not having a good food day but I don’t get both dc back to school till Wednesday, so I’ll count today as still the holidays.

@GameOfJones that eating plan sounds v good, probably because that is my ideal eating window!

@imperialqueen would you like it if I were to tag you every so often for a check-in?

@donedreaming what sort of fast (how many hours) were you aiming for today?

I'm doing what I did before a few years ago so 5:2 with mostly fasting on a Monday and Thursday if I can. I had dinner last night about 7ish and then I'll have a meal this evening (soon I hope !) of about 500/600 calories of something proteinish and lots of vegetables and then nothing until breakfast tomorrow. When I first started I used to have something at lunchtime and split the calories but I found it easier to not eat at all and save them all for the evening. I've been drinking absolutely masses though to stave off the hunger pangs - fizzy water and green tea and some decaf coffee for variety 😂

Clearingaspace · 02/09/2024 19:09

hello to all the new starters!

sooo I forgot that I had an early start today which scuppered my 14 hour plan for todays checkin but I am starting my fast now so I can do some work then have a late breakfast tomorrow. I didn’t end up logging cals but feel I ate nice food and am full but not too full!

Feeling more on track so the fresh start September is doing its trick 🤞

imperialqueen · 02/09/2024 21:01

HarpQuartet - thanks very much. That would be great,

HarpQuartet · 03/09/2024 08:41

@imperialqueen what time are you fasting until today? I don't know whether to stick with 11am (16 hours since dinner) or include the rogue fudge I had at about 9.30pm 🙄

I'm sure a sweet snack messes things up because I'm properly hungry now when usually I wouldn't be feeling it yet.

RudolfsLeftToe · 03/09/2024 08:44

Please can I join! I’m doing the 5:2 with healthy eating on the off days and one cheat day a week. Last week I lost 3.2kg but it was off the back of a very food / booze based holiday. I want to lose another 16kg but slowly does it…

HarpQuartet · 03/09/2024 08:53

@RudolfsLeftToe liking the off-kilter Christmas aspect of your name, and welcome!

imperialqueen · 03/09/2024 09:29

HarpQuartet - hoping to last until 4pm. I lasted until 4pm yesterday but gave in and was eating chocolate at 11pm last night! I agree with you, eating sweet stuff the day/night before makes me hungrier the next day. I am hoping to do better today, had a rubbish sleep and that makes me hungry too!

Good luck to everyone else fasting today. We can do this

HarpQuartet · 03/09/2024 09:31

Yes we can!

GameOfJones · 03/09/2024 09:41

Eating later on definitely makes fasting the next day harder. Last week I had one day where I started fasting at 2.30pm and I was hungry at bedtime but by the following morning felt absolutely fine and ate at 11am but could have gone longer.

Then I had an evening where I had fish and chips around 7pm and then some chocolate and a glass of wine around 9pm and I was so, so hungry the next morning despite having consumed far more calories.

In any case I think the boom and bust of being very much on plan during the week and then letting it all slide and eating rubbish at the weekend isn't working for me at all. Mainly because it's giving my bad digestive issues, so I really want to get back on track.

I am at the gym now having stopped eating at 6pm yesterday and just had a black coffee and water this morning. Porridge with banana planned for lunch and then avocado, chilli and halloumi on toast for dinner.

imperialqueen · 03/09/2024 13:26

GameOfJones, I can hopefully try this. The stopping eating at 6pm (that is) So much for not eating until 4pm, I lasted until 12pm.Going to try and not eat after 6/7pm this evening and see how I feel tomorrow.

HarpQuartet, thanks so much for tagging me. It is keeping me in the zone. 😀. Much appreciated.

ItRainsItPours · 03/09/2024 16:53

Welcome @RudolfsLeftToe well done on your initial loss and as you say it may slow but the main thing is to keeping it going in the right direction.

@imperialqueen when i am in the zone I eat lunch after 2pm and dinner done by 6pm. That said I am not yet back in the zone after a lovely fun Summer. I will try to do it gradually. So if hungry at 12pm I will eat but try to make it a bit later the next day etc etc. The main thing is the longer term.

My house is completely upside down and no access to kitchen due to building work. Eating out and grabbing easy food on the go is not helping me. Will hopefully be back to normal in a week or so.

Helloooo
Very grateful for the new thread!
I've well and truly fallen off the wagon until the kids are back in school. 2 are back tomorrow and the other one is back on Thursday.
Aiming for a FD Thursday. Can't decide whether to weigh on Thursday morning or get a few FDs done before I do that..!
Need to keep on here to stay accountable! Do you all have a goal in mind for Xmas?

Clearingaspace · 03/09/2024 20:04

@AnnieLewis i would weigh in before your fast as it will be encouraging to see the weight go down a little!

@ItRainsItPours anything out of the ordinary like building work always make me drop healthy eating etc. fasting though might actually be a little easier with the kitchen out of bounds 🤪
