I'm no expert but I have been doing Intermittent Fasting (IF) since September and I've lost 9kg/ a stone.

I eat breakfast at 7:30, lunch and the tea at 4. So my eating window is finished by 4:30pm. So it's a 9 hour eating window and 15 hours of fasting.

I haven't read any books about it but I do listen to podcasts about it.

I don't know anyone in real life who does IF so thought there would be a community here.

Oh thanks for that- it’s frustrating isn’t it? Your cals seem lower than mine I think though I’m not counting cals. I think Do you have much to lose?

I’m the same.

Lost weight initially then plateaued. It’s like your body adjusts to it or something.

I think I’m probably eating too much in the eating window - but then part of the motivation for IF was the fact you don’t calorie count…

I am less bloated which is very welcome as I get terrible endo belly. Also finding clothes fit a bit better. But also so want to see this on the scales!

Started 66kg and now 64kg.
want to get to 58kg (around 9 stone)
am 5”3 so not very tall!

I will weigh on Friday morning as it hasn’t been a full week yet. I just feel I’m eating way less than I used to in my 30s and it’s taking ages .
Today’s lunch: one tin tuna in water water with a tbsp low fat mayo and half a tin sweetcorn with salad leaves, tomato and radish and cucumber. Apple, small banana.

Dinner: A wholemeal sandwich with 25 g cheese. Bread spread with light mayo, salad and tomato and cucumber, pear.
I was craving a sandwich as I never eat them normally and I’m home alone tonight.
Thats all under 1000 calories .

@greengreyblue I do have a lot to lose.... about 4st hence I try and keep calories lower during the week and then relax a bit at weekends (still within my eating window.) But I don't count calories to be honest, I try for the fasting to be the only "rule".

I just completed my longest ever fast of 21 hours. I actually felt fine, I was hungrier last night than I was today before eating.

greengreyblue · 17/07/2024 17:23

My BMI is 24 at 10st 4 and I’d like it to be 22 at 9st7-10.at 5ft 5. Right now I’d be over the moon to get to 10!
I get what you mean about not too many rules. I’m lucky that I like healthy food anyway hence I’m not overweight but this is my heaviest adult weight bar pregnancy. Having been a pear shape all my life , since meno I’m getting a belly and I’m not happy with that hence taking action.😉

One benefit of being 53 I guess but I am finding it slow. I used to buy a chocolate bar when it was totm. Never touched it at other times.

I'm the same. Never want chocolate other than one day a month when I'm like a mad woman for it.

I’m still here following the thread. There are lots of end of school year events going on which I am indulging in. Not losing weight but not gaining, which is my aim for the summer.

brightpompoms · 20/07/2024 08:20

Summer holidays are a challenge for me. I'm great in routine but I know I'll be drinking more and then inevitably snacking more!

fallenandfazed · 20/07/2024 09:30

Oh id love to have a weight loss partner i am 23 and i weigh 70 kgs already with only one kid. its horrible as i used to be 43 kgs when i gave birth.
Will anyone be willing?
I also sometimes try to follow youtube workout links

brightpompoms · 20/07/2024 17:58

@fallenandfazed how old is your little one? Do t be too hard on yourself, it's tough when they are young.

I normally/used to weigh on a Friday and then report back here. Others do it on a Monday.

I'm target weight now and had no change this week so that's great.

brightpompoms · 26/07/2024 22:52

I've weighed today and am still target weight. I'm absolutely thrilled as I'm a bit all over the place in the holidays. Gave me a boost so I managed a 22 fast today.

How is everyone else?
