Arrghh! I wrote a whole long post last Friday but it looks like it vanished into a puff of smoke rather than appearing on here
No great loss I suppose
Welcome @JudyGemstone & @Humphriescushion
@harriethoyle I’ve been giggling at snaccident all week - thank you for that! I think it was me who only had one square of chocolate: it’s cos I buy bars of Godiva 90% cocoa solids for my FD treat. One or two squares of that totally hits the spot and doesn’t deliver too many calories.
@ginsparkles how’s your dad doing now?
@KylieKoKo love that NSV!
@CoffeeRequiredNow I find that when I’m crazy busy at work & juggling all the family stuff (like now...sigh...) I swing between two extremes of either not eating at all, even on NFDs, or everything going out of the window altogether. I do find that the risk of OMAD is that I can end up eating too big a meal at the end of the day - even if my total calorie intake stays below TDEE it pushes my mental perception of what a normal meal looks like out of shape, and not in a good way.
I realised that I had hit a bit of a FD meal rut. Because I tend to eat quite late in the evening after I’ve finished work, done an hour of bodypump & spent time chatting to the kids, it can be 9-9.30p before I finally eat. And by that point I’m too tired & hungry to be creative so it’s generally the same 3 or 4 meals each time. And then because I’m not looking forward to the food, I’m more likely to snack or eat something less FD-friendly.
So today I took pre-emptive steps and half prepped an Ottlolenghi veggie dish between calls earlier in the day, & added in a couple of scrambled eggs (thanks for the reminder about protein @ListeningQuietly!) Success!
Sorry this has turned into such a long update. Late night, post FD ramblings
. Right, off to bed!
