Finished on 434 today. I boiled several eggs this morning and im keeping them in the fridge to snack on this week, instead of reaching for wotsis like I tend to do when im hungry. I've been using my crosstrainer every morning since last week, I feel so much better, more énergie. Im also so happy the kids are going back to school soon, we all really needed it

harriethoyle · 22/02/2021 21:50

Stay strong @KobaniDaughters!

Kitchen closed here on 583. Day 2 tomorrow will be on very similar lines, all being well!

Benjispruce2 · 22/02/2021 22:19

After getting through the day on 60 cals, I made a Quorn and rice noodle stir fry but have been really hungry this evening. I haven’t acted on it and going to bed now but it’s the first time I’ve felt proper hungry. Looking forward to breakfast and I’m craving cheese! Grin

Fillybuster · 22/02/2021 23:36

Super late check in. Day 1 of a b2b closing on 725, hopefully tomorrow will go ok. Scary weigh in this morning at 9.10 after 2 weeks off the wagon; now need to get back to 9.5 then regain 9.3. Sigh.
Who else is fasting tomorrow?

Fillybuster · 22/02/2021 23:44

@ginsparkles just catching up and saw your comments about snacks. I’m the same, so I’m getting better at planning forward. Can you forward plan something that feels like a treat waiting for yourself for when you get home (for me that’s prepped carrot sticks and hummus, sliced apple and cottage cheese or peanut butter, a tin of palm hearts with a teaspoon of dressing, corn cakes with cottage cheese or hummus.....none of which I want to prep at the point in time I’m hungry, but all of which I love and will happily eat if waiting for me!) so that you can look forward to it, and avoid the empty snack calories whilst waiting for dinner?

KobaniDaughters · 23/02/2021 02:49

Closing the kitchen at 537 and very much looking forward to my curry tomorrow

ginsparkles · 23/02/2021 06:59

@Fillybuster yes I think that's going to be the plan. Have something filling and healthy ready to go for when I get in.
I may even start doing dinner for me and DD before DH gets home as he isn't fasting with me at the moment.

Been trying really hard but put on 1 pound this week Sad
I find it so depressing eating diet food when the weather's cold - much easier in the summer!

ListeningQuietly · 23/02/2021 14:22

Rara
Definitely.
A light salad is plenty on a hot summers day
but when its cold and grey, comfort food beckons.

And NOBODY's weight stays stable.
Accept the fluctuations, look at your food diary and see where the slip ups were
and start fresh tomorrow and next week.
All will be well.

Soup is your friend @RaraRachael. Warm and filling and can be v low in calories. It’s been proven that liquidised food keeps you full for longer.

ginsparkles · 23/02/2021 15:50

Completely feel the same @RaraRachael ! @Benjispruce2 is right soup is my savour during the winter!

ListeningQuietly · 23/02/2021 16:00

DEFINITELY re soup
things like the tubs of dahl soup or turnip and chickpea
300 calories a full tub
you'll be too full to move afterwards

Even better, make a big pot at home. So cheap and if you keep to green veg with stock whizzed together on a FD you could have as much as you want for a very few calories. For a meal, make them more substantial with some sweet potato or parsnip or even some pastini or broken up spaghetti in a minestrone.
I really want soup now! NFD today and the 0.5lb has dropped off again after yesterday. Will be well under TDEE today as only had 500 so far and feeling good so hopefully see a loss this week.My clothes are all feeling looser and I can feel the loss from my stomach Grin

RaraRachael · 23/02/2021 17:28

I really enjoy making soup so I'll give it a whirl. Handy to freeze so don't need to think of a meal for the next day Grin

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 23/02/2021 18:27

Doing my first fast dat today and finding it pretty tough.

I've had just tea and coffee all day - 6 cups ( tracking the milk ) and have now had some leftover roast chicken and broccoli. I'm at 300 cals but have a banging headache.

Thinking that I will use my last 200 cals on a couple of weetabix and warm milk at about 8pm. Hopefully then I will be able to sleep ok .

Suspect I need to drink more water.

Does that sound like an ok plan ?

I've also planned tomorrow's dinner of rib eye steak , spinach and potato gratin

ListeningQuietly · 23/02/2021 18:34

Baileys
Weetabix will not keep you full overnight.
You need some proteins and fats ...
a small omelette or some scrambled egg on a slice of ham

and PLENTY of fluids - you normally get over a pint of water a day in your food
so you need to make that back up

OP posts:
Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 23/02/2021 18:59

Thanks - would a protein shake work ? Limited food options as day before Tesco delivery

harriethoyle · 23/02/2021 19:04

Identical kitchen closing to yesterday on 583 which I'm super pleased by, as I've struggled to stick to 1300 my last few b2bs. Going to spend the evening painting skirting boards...! The joys!

KobaniDaughters · 23/02/2021 19:05

@RaraRachael that’s what I usually do too - make a big batch of soup and freeze it in calorie counter portions to make my life easier on FD

ginsparkles · 23/02/2021 20:42

@Baileyscoffeeandcampfires I feel you with the headaches. I struggle with them too, but I have massively upped my fluid intake since speaking with the lovely folk here and it's definitely better.

Kitchen closing for me today on 559. So 2 good fast days as ever, now to not mess it up over the week!!! Heading down to see dad on Saturday. But determined to stay on track the rest of the week. I have ordered lots of healthy protein based snacks and less naughty biscuits!!!

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 23/02/2021 20:59

Thanks
I had a protein shake and a glass of skimmed milk in the end . Finished up on 496 cals and am now off to bed to sleep off the headache

Really looking forward to my porridge tomorrow am

Fillybuster · 23/02/2021 22:33

Decent 2nd fast day. Another vote for soup here: I made a mammoth batch of leek & potato first thing this morning. Always a win in the Fillyhousehold: everyone else had it with freshly baked sourdough whilst I displayed huge self restraint and stayed away from the bread - even put mine in a mug to remove the urge to wipe the bowl out! Just finished the most massive bowl of stir fry veg with some chilli tofu: really full and pretty sure I’ve come in under 700 for the day.

flindorama · 23/02/2021 22:43

I've been lurking on the thread debating starting. I officially started Monday. My "normal" TDEE needs brought under control as I'm such a massive binge eater. Yesterday came in around 1600 when I'm allowed quite a bit more.
My first fast day was today.
Was pretty hard going. I had a fruit tea in the morning but I was struggling by lunchtime. Two eggs scrambled with mushrooms and tomato. Then Cajun spiced chicken with pineapple mango chilli salsa. It was really nice and once I had it, i felt way better. Total was 505. So quite happy with that! Does it get easier as time goes on?

Fillybuster · 23/02/2021 22:44

In case anyone is interested, I have to share this tofu recipe which I came across a few weeks ago. I reduce the oil for FDs, but it has revolutionised tofu for me! Plus, adding this to completely plain stir fried veg (just a little soy sauce, 5 spice and chilli flakes) took it to another level...

KobaniDaughters · 24/02/2021 05:11

Love a tofu recipe @Fillybuster

Am not being good about tracking to keep within TDEE and had a lot of post dinner snacks tonight (all “healthy” but highly calorific - cashews, pistachios and slices of apple slathered with almond butter!) so going to do 3 FD this week, did Monday already, was going to do Thursday but switching to Wednesday and Friday instead.

Already have my meals planned out as well, tomorrow should come in bang on 500cal with chickpea and kimchi salad for lunch and veggie curry for dinner, then 520cal on Friday with veg soup from the freezer for lunch and a jackfruit tamale for dinner - all very delicious so hopefully satisfying as well
