Hi all, looking forward to FD tomorrow. Hoping I maintain my loss. I’ve kept to happy sedentary TDEE on NFDs and walked lots this weekend so fingers crossed.

KylieKoKo · 21/02/2021 20:42

I'm planning to fast tomorrow too @Benjispruce2 but I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it.

I've modified a prawn curry recipe it's under 300 cals and will be having that for my evening meal with miso soup, ham slices and a boiled egg when I need them.

Benjispruce2 · 21/02/2021 21:06

Well, in a manner of speaking. I find weekends tricky and I need to check my food more. I try to relax a bit and have some wine but I want to stay on track or I get demotivated.Weekdays are more predictable and at least I know FDs are more straightforward.

KobaniDaughters · 22/02/2021 04:08

Looking forward to a Monday FD too

Benjispruce2 · 22/02/2021 07:51

Morning all. Up 0.5lb after weekend but not concerned as I know I’ve stuck to my TDEE. Most probably indigested foodBlush. Espresso and a large glass of water for breakfast and back in the classroom today so that will help. Good luck Monday fasters.

Benjispruce2 · 22/02/2021 07:51

*Undigested.

Bottl · 22/02/2021 10:31

Hi everyone,
I'm just creeping back in, quietly!
February has been a total write-off and I'm fed up so am climbing back on the wagon today with a FD. Just having my first fruit tea - I've given up caffeine to see if it helps break the link between having a hot drink and a snack Blush. Last week I was having one hot chocolate instead and found the snacking was less because of the sweetness of the hot choc but going to try and wean myself off that this week.
Got a shit week ahead so trying to regain a little bit of control.
How is everyone getting on?

ginsparkles · 22/02/2021 10:34

Morning lovely fasters. Another week expecting to see a maintain but to be honest i'm trying to be kind to myself and allow myself maintenance for now, I'll get back into losses once DD goes back to school and I can focus and snack less.

That said I have been very mindful on this weeks food shop and bought some good protein based snack options instead of my usual biscuits!

Fasting today, needed something warm and comforting so have had a low cal hot chocolate when I got to the shop this morning, I have an apple in case I get peckish and will be having a tomato soup for tea. Which will bring me in very low today plenty of room to spare if I need it.

@ListeningQuietly is very right about snacking, I'm a nightmare for it so I am desperately trying to stop. I find the time between finishing work and DH getting home the worst, so I need to plan my days with a good snack there instead of getting home and heading straight to the biscuit barrel. I need almost a little extra meal. Or to drop breakfast and have a small bowl of cereal then instead. Will work on a plan! Suggestions welcome!

Hope everyone whose fasting today has a good fast Smile

ListeningQuietly · 22/02/2021 11:38

Welcome back bottl
This time of year is always hard even without COVID
its cold, dark, wet and the summer feels a long way away
but the soli is warming and the frogspawn is in the pond.

I'm semi fasting today.
Tea until lunch,
A couple of thin slices of leftover roast beef with Cottage cheese on top for lunch (and maybe a bit of lettuce if I can find it)
Tea all afternoon
Frittata for supper

Gin
When you get in from work, have a cup of tea ( No Snacking )
and then brush your teeth.
NOTHING kills appetite like mint toothpaste Wink

but mainly stop buying snack foods
If they are not in the house they are not a temptation.

OP posts:
ginsparkles · 22/02/2021 12:33

Would love to not buy them, but the other peeps in the house like to have them so I have to be stronger at resisting. I have always been a grazer, eating little and often and it's never been an issue before. DH is now working much later which I think it part of the problem. Usually I would be eating my dinner within an hour of getting home. Now I am home earlier and he is home later so there 4 hours and during that time I am hungry! I thought if I saved some of my calories to have a hard boiled egg, or a ryvita with some philly, it's more substantial and I won't then pick at the other things.

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 22/02/2021 13:56

Hi - can I join in please ?

I have a very stubborn half stone to lose in order to get to a bmi of 25 . I've been doing 16:8 for a year but have hit plateau since Xmas so thought I would try a couple of fast days a week to reset and stop the snacking .

I always track on mfp and aim for 100g of protein and less than 2000cals which is my tdee but that's obviously too much . Evening snacking is my nemesis

ListeningQuietly · 22/02/2021 14:23

Hi there Baileys
Welcome to the gang.

I think its tome for some home schooling art lessons Wink
Make up a nice sign that says Kitchen Closed
one for the room door
one for the fridge
one for the larder cupboard
Put them up AS SOON as the meal is over
and then you'll have to consciously walk past them to snack
rather than mindlessly eating.

Also, do you do the look at each bite before you put it in your mouth
trick

rather than having the big bag of crisps next to you,
pour them out into a bowl, put it on the table in front of you.
Lean forwards and look at each crisp as you reach for it
are you hungry
or would water meet the same hands towards face need

The mental habits are the ones to work on
where the head goes
the body will follow

Hi everyone! Was meant to be fasting today, but I woke up hungry (doesn't happen too often) so it has been deferred until tomorrow.

I have cut out sugar for Lent. 4 days down, day 5 today, only 35 to go 😭 when do the cravings stop?!

KobaniDaughters · 22/02/2021 15:17

Good morning everyone! @ListeningQuietly you’re such an awesome Fast-Mum, good reminder on all the tips.

I ended up on a bit of a telly binge last night, think I only went a little over TDEE and there was def an element of finishing off food I know I don’t want to be tempted by this week!

Looking forward to today’s fast though

ListeningQuietly · 22/02/2021 15:22

Kobani
I hope the tips and tricks help you and everybody else.
Being a healthy weight and reasonably fit is utterly utterly worth it
but it only works if you feel good and happy about why you are eating less.

Jockey
About 10 days
And if you hang on in there, after the month is over you'll find it much much easier to eat less sugar for ever

Thank you listening. Good tips! I need to remember to write down everything I eat. That is always the best way for me to keep myself on track. I'll treat myself to a nice new notebook and will do it.

Was feeling hungry after work but instead of going for snacks I have had a small bowl of cereal. Still on track on my FD as I have only had that and an apple, on track for 411.

KobaniDaughters · 22/02/2021 15:49

@ListeningQuietly yeah I have to say I’ve found the last two weeks getting back into it pretty easy and seeing results (I base results on clothes rather than weight) has been very motivating....even had a friend comment on how I’m looking yesterday which was validating

Benjispruce2 · 22/02/2021 16:06

So far so good. Only water, green tea and an espresso plus some green salad with soy sauce at lunch. Feeling peckish now and looking forward to my dinner as I’ve got 440 cals to play with. NSV this morning was that I was back to work and a normally snug skirt was looseGrin

harriethoyle · 22/02/2021 17:08

Hi guys - late roll call for me! Super busy at work today and tomorrow...

B2b as usual, only had a banana today so c.500 calories to spend tonight and then probably same again tomorrow. It's a nice spring day here and it makes it so much easier!

KnobJockey · 22/02/2021 19:17

Halfway there then @ListeningQuietly, already thinking of what I'm going to buy to eat at Easter 😂

KylieKoKo · 22/02/2021 19:52

I've just finished up my last meal. I have not felt hungry today which is odd as I'm pre menstual but I'm not complaining!

KobaniDaughters · 22/02/2021 20:08

God I hate being 8hours behind - it’s only midday here and I’m starving

ListeningQuietly · 22/02/2021 20:21

Enjoy the daylight and think of us in the cold and the dark !
Can you sneak out for a quick walk?

KobaniDaughters · 22/02/2021 20:31

@ListeningQuietly I’m stuck working sadly but that also means I can’t wander into the kitchen....

ginsparkles · 22/02/2021 21:32

Kitchen closed on 519.

Tomorrow's plan
Wheatabix
Chicken salad
Stuffed peppers.

Should bring me in at 547
