@Humphriescushion thank you so much, I’m glad you found your dog. She’s missing on Salisbury Plain which is 28 square miles of wilderness. We thought she must have died in the harsh weather. She has a thick coat and she’s a tough old bird bless her, fingers crossed this is her and she’s surviving!

harriethoyle · 01/02/2021 08:47

Everything crossed @Hazelflies! 🤞🤞🤞

ginsparkles · 01/02/2021 08:53

Morning all. Day one of B2B for me today. Got a flask of tea made to keep my occupied while at work for a bit, ryvita with philly when I get in and then a veggie chow mien for tea.

Fingers crossed for your doggy @Hazelflies !!

Welcome back @Bottl

And good luck to all the Monday fasters! Seems to be lots of us today! Smile

No further news on Dad. His OT team are discussing plans for getting him home, and his partner sounded a bit more upbeat about plans yesterday. We had a good chat about the future and lack there of, discussed things we can do for him now and also when he has gone. Wonder when this will actually sink in, still feels like it's happening to someone else.

KylieKoKo · 01/02/2021 12:11

Good luck Monday fasters! I ate far too much yesterday so I am not feeling anything like hunger yet. I am making a low calorie approximation of spicy prawn arrabiatta tonight replacing the pasta with a mixture of courgette ribbons and konjac noodles and using olive oil spray rather than just pouring oil into the pan.

Sending hugs @ginsparkles

ListeningQuietly · 01/02/2021 12:13

Hazelflies
Dogs are very resilient and its not been too cold a winter up on the plain. Fingers crossed.

Bottl
Welcome back. It will come together swiftly.

Gin
Being organised and ready is definitely the way to be.

Fasting will get easier when we get some sunshine !

@ginsparkles I'm joining you in a b2b. Long story but we are kitchenless for the next couple of weeks and another week in March so fasting might be challenging! I've popped to the supermarket and bought microwave meals within my 650 target for the next couple of days...

missfliss · 01/02/2021 14:56

What do people do in a B2B? Do you eat more than the 500 cals per day ?

harriethoyle · 01/02/2021 15:23

@missfliss you get 1300 over the two days. I tend to split 650/650 but you can vary as much as you like up to about 400/900

missfliss · 01/02/2021 15:50

ah thanks @harriethoyle (fingers crossed for your dad too)

ginsparkles · 01/02/2021 17:49

FD going ok. Not really feeling like eating so that helps!

Dad coming home on Wednesday it seems.

@harriethoyle .... no kitchen! Argh! I went through that last lockdown, you have my sympathy!!!

Hazelflies · 01/02/2021 18:28

@harriethoyle do you know what the calorie allowance for b2b is if you’re breastfeeding a toddler ?

harriethoyle · 01/02/2021 18:35

Glad you've got a bit of progress with your Dad @ginsparkles, that will help everyone I think. My mum was desperate to get out of hospital and it felt like such a positive hurdle to surmount, even though we knew she was coming home palliatively.

@Hazelflies I don't but @ListeningQuietly probably will!

ginsparkles · 01/02/2021 18:44

Thanks @harriethoyle ! If nothing else we can at least now get to go and say our goodbyes

ListeningQuietly · 01/02/2021 19:54

Hazelflies
I would be quite gentle on the fasting if you are

  • starting out
  • breastfeeding
remember that this is for the rest of your life - not the next few weeks

Finishing day 1 on about 850 cals. Not too bad but could improve it next time.
When is best to weigh? After day 2 or after each fast day?

H0twaterbottle · 01/02/2021 20:44

@Hazelflies we must be similar with little ones. Smile. I definitely eat worst on days where I haven't had a good night sleep...

Hazelflies · 01/02/2021 21:40

@ListeningQuietly yes I know what you mean :) I’ll try and reduce gradually

@H0twaterbottle it’s so frustrating isn’t it..being sleep deprived plus in close proximity to/ in the kitchen all day makes it so much harder!

ginsparkles · 01/02/2021 21:44

Finishing up on 476 today.

@H0twaterbottle weighing after second fast is recommended I believe. I do both but I weigh fairly regularly and track the trend.

harriethoyle · 01/02/2021 22:08

Finishing on 636. @ginsparkles That's amazing for a b2b!

I'm fricking starving 😂

Lilice · 01/02/2021 22:12

Finished on 520 😊 today wasn't as hard as last week. I added a boiled egg to the menu, helped quite a bit.

@H0twaterbottle @Hazelflies last week i was eating very slowly a one fibre chocolate bar to make it last and enjoying every crumb. My little boy came and kept asking me can i have one can i have one, why are you eating so slowly, etc and so on and so on whilst opening the cupboard to try and find the hidden pack and i was like please just leave me alone to enjoy this tiny treat, im sooo hungry! 🤣🤣🤣 it's definitely hard to diet around the kids and lockdown doesnt help 😫

Fillybuster · 02/02/2021 00:06

Late kitchen close on 620, not too bad for a Monday. Way to go @ginsparkles - gives you plenty of wiggle room for tomorrow!

Sorry to post and run. Will catch up soon. Love to all and good luck to all the Tuesday fasters. Considering a b2b but got my period today and suspect I really won’t be in the mood tomorrow morning!

Fillybuster · 02/02/2021 00:07

But couldn’t go to bed without saying “yay” for the news on your dad coming out this week @ginsparkles!!

ginsparkles · 02/02/2021 10:00

Good morning. Thanks for all the well wishes for Dad. Feeling a bit more positive knowing we can start to make plans to go and see him.

Day 2 of B2B today. Scales were unkind today so I'm not convinced it'll be a successful week this week but carrying on! Plan for the day is
Small bowl of cornflakes with oat milk
Seafood salad and grapes for lunch
Small jacket potato with philly lightest.
Which should all bring me in at 599.

Lilice · 02/02/2021 10:45

@ginsparkles where do you find recipe ideas? Your menu sounds so appealing for a fast day. Mine is so boring. I have courgettes for lunch and brocoli for dinner, with a boiled egg. For a sweet treat, i have a coffee and a 80 calorie bar. I really need to spice things up

ginsparkles · 02/02/2021 10:52

@Lilice I'm a bit of a recipe and food nut! So I get lots of magazines, and recipe books. I have got quite good now at spotting what things will be low calorie for a fast day.

I have several Pinterest boards, for non fast days and for fast days. Basically any spare minute is spent on the internet or with my head buried in a cookbook or magazine! I sound like I have a very exciting life Grin

I picked up one yesterday that was solely for fast days, was a really good magazine (wasn't cheap but I didn't work that out until I reached the check out Hmm) it had full day plans, ideas for meals at all sorts of low calorie points. I'll find its details when I get home.
