Boredom and anxiety in lockdown has definitely derailed weight loss goals.
I feel it is time to take some accountability and get back on track.

Let's support one another in our weekly goals, inspire and start as we mean to go on.

Me
I started lockdown at 10st 3 and now 11st 1. Goal weight is 9st, i am 5ft 4 Smile

emsyj37 · 11/05/2020 15:11

I'm in - I lost my baby weight with 5:2 a couple of years ago and normally manage my weight ok, but lockdown has sent me down a slippery slope to inactivity and endless snacking. I did a couple of half hearted 5:2 weeks but I need daily control over my snacking so I'm starting 18:6 as of today.
Current weight 11st 4lbs
Goal 10st 8lbs
5' 8"
I did 10,287 steps on my walk this morning and plan to keep that up each day.

sunshine175 · 17/05/2020 08:46

I got on the scales and had hit 13 stone 2 weeks ago. I'm usually 12 and really want to be 10.5 (but have never committed to weight loss). So enough is enough I thought. Have been on 16:8 since then and so far lost 4.3 pounds (weighed today). Really struggling with wanting sugar this morning and my black coffee isn't hitting the spot but I'm hoping posting stops be giving in! I'm really inactive as shielding and working from home but going to do gardening today.

DarlingCoffee · 18/05/2020 07:24

I will join! I’ve been fasting for seven weeks now and doing the couch to 5k. The weight isn’t coming off very quickly though. I’ve lost six pounds so far, does that sound normal? Would welcome any tips to boost weight loss! I’m 13 stone so plenty to lose! @sunshine175 for sugar cravings try MCT oil in your coffee.

PajamasnoDramas · 18/05/2020 13:16

I’ll join in too, I need to lose my ‘lockdown spread’ and some accountability! I’m currently at 11st 6lb and would love to get to between 10 and 10.5st.
Am on day 2 now and eating between 11 and 7.

blueglassandfreesias · 19/05/2020 14:07

I'll join @Tattoocrazymum I started at same weight as you were and am now the same weight as you, we're weight gain twins!
I will be starting Low carb boot camp next week but also doing 16:8.
Where do I find out more info about it or is really as simple as just eating in an 8 hour window?
TIA

Flippinfurloughed · 19/05/2020 21:22

I’ve started this week doing this - I’m fasting for the 8 hours (I do 10am - 6pm so I can still have meals with Ds) but I’m keeping my calories to 800 for 5 of those days. I’ve lost 3lbs since Friday so it’s going well so far. I’m 11 stone 11 and want to be 9 stone 11, so a fair amount to lose.

DearTeddyRobinson · 20/05/2020 08:19

Hi all, I've gained half a stone since lockdown began 😳. Lost 30lbs last year on WW and really don't want to have to do it all again. I started 16-8 on Monday but I have some questions! I'm eating from 10-6, so do I basically have a late breakfast, then normal lunch and dinner at 5? Or am I basically supposed to skip breakfast and have herbal tea till lunch? Otherwise I don't see how it will work as I'm not cutting calories?

Flippinfurloughed · 20/05/2020 08:56

@DearTeddyRobinson I don’t know the ‘proper’ way, but I either try and go till lunch time or I’ll have a smaller breakfast and smaller lunch. Or sometimes a big breakfast and a snack at lunch time and then a larger supper. I’m still trying to keep it around the 800 cals though, so I just judge how hungry I am and manage my meals around that.

There’s probably a proper technique though Grin

DearTeddyRobinson · 20/05/2020 09:39

Thank you @Flippinfurloughed , I guess the key to all of these techniques is...stop cramming so much food in my face!!

Tattoocrazymum · 25/05/2020 09:01

Im starting today.
Im so fed up of the yoyo dieting cycle.
So my starting weigh now is 11st 5 Sad
Cant believe i have let myself gain a stone in 2 months, so gutted
Thats it im on it from today, whos in with me?

CatBatCat · 01/06/2020 21:04

I've no idea what I am because I usually weigh myself at boots but I think I'm probably 2st more than I want to be. Ive started slowly and did mostly 16:8 last week with just 2 days off then back on again but I'm in with both feet this week. I can skip breakfast with lots of black coffee and green tea in the mornings. I want to make this my lifestyle change not a diet so the off/on the wagon talk needs to stop and I won't be made to feel guilty if I don't fast every single day. My only rule will be no 2 days in a row.

thisislovelyme · 04/06/2020 13:28

I have just gone back to 16:8 today after a half stone lockdown gain. I'm eating between 1pm and 9pm so mornings just having green tea and black coffee the eating what I like till 9pm. Sundays off. Need a lovely breakfast on a Sunday! I'm relieved just to be doing it again... good luck everyone.

Someonesayroadtrip · 04/06/2020 17:05

Hi, can I join? I have a lot to lose. I have only just discovered this today so will be and am making some errors, I'm finding it difficult eating different to the family and the idea of having no carbs is stressful so while I do want to reduce carbs and other things this could work well for me.

My first error is having to "fast" days together, I ate 500 calories yesterday and will today again, but I can do better next week.

thisislovelyme · 04/06/2020 21:27

Hi roadtrip, good for you - are you on the 5:2? Anything you like on five days and 500 on the two fasting days? I do think it works, I did 5:2 for six weeks once and did lose a fair bit of weight but had to take a break at that point. I remember my 500 calorie meal being jacket potato, cherry tomatoes and cottage cheese. Sooooo good!

I've just done my first day of 16:8 and so far so good. Normally now I'd be opening chocolate or crisps but because it's after nine o'clock I just can't and that's that.

emma6776 · 05/06/2020 15:36

Can I join you ladies? Have been slowly gaining since I hit my 40’s after being pretty slim, with no effort all my life.
5ft 6”
11st 2lb
My fantasy weight is 9st 7lb but I’d be delighted with anything around 10st 7lb.

thisislovelyme · 05/06/2020 22:47

Hi Emma - what are you going to try? 16:8 or 5:2? I'm on day 2 of 16:8. Lost nearly half lb yesterday. Pleased! Why didn't I start this sooner??

Hopefully · 09/06/2020 21:01

Hey, can I join in? I have realised I BADLY need some accountability. I’ve been messing around pretending to lose my last 5kg (what’s that, about 11lbs?) for about two months now, so I feel like I’m having all the hell of dieting without the benefit of, you know, losing any bloody weight!

I’ve fluctuated loads over the last year or so (separation from H, new relationship, lockdown), but I’m calling my start date for this bout of weight loss 1st April.

Starting weight: 67.8kg
Current weight: 65.5kg
Goal weight: 60.5kg

I’ve found that 18:6 works better for me than 16:8, as I can have a decent brunch/snack type meal in the afternoon, then a satisfying dinner. Having said that, I’m getting worse, rather than better, at sticking to my fasting times!

I struggle enormously with an eating routine, because I spend most of the week in the family home looking after the DCs, then the remainder living at new DP’s (XH and I swap in and out of our house for childcare, DP and I move in and out of the family home together each week, to keep as close as possible to reasonable lockdown rules). The constant chopping and changing (and rewarding myself with indulgent food on my days ‘off’ from childcare), and the fact that DP works long hours out of the home, giving me little time away from the DC to exercise when I have them, make weight loss even more challenging. But I’m sick of bouncing around the same weight while also feeling I’m punishing myself with a diet, so I’m determined to actually crack this.

My goal is to lose at least 0.5kg per week, ideally more for the first week or two before it inevitably slows.

Hopefully · 10/06/2020 07:07

Ok, checking in this morning with what feels like a bit of a ‘fake’ weigh in - Wednesday is my weigh in morning, but I know I’m quite dehydrated, so I strongly suspect my weight is artificially low. But nonetheless, I’ll take it. So here’s today’s stats:

Current weight: 64.8kg (!!)
Start weight: 67.8kg
Goal weight: 60.5kg

I’ve been listening to a podcast about ‘creating disinterest’ in overeating - the same way one has to cultivate disinterest in an ex boyfriend by consciously thinking about why they aren’t a good idea. I’m seeing it as getting over the temptation to overeat the same as getting over any unhealthy relationship. It’s an interesting way to look at food (overeating in particular), rather than focusing on the food itself being good/bad, or punishing myself for not being perfect.

Tanaqui · 18/06/2020 16:48

What was the podcast @Hopefully? Sounds good.

Did anyone find weightless very slow? I've only been doing 16:8 for a week, so I shouldn't be impatient but I was hoping for a few water pounds! No change on the scale at all yet :(

Chakai9 · 19/06/2020 22:39

Hi can I join, I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life, I’ve been doing keto loosely but enough is now! I need to shift it feel disgusting 😢

handmedownqueen · 01/07/2020 17:43

I’m in
Had knee surgery plus lockdown has seen me creep up to 82.5 kg I’m 178cm. I’ve been trying to reduce intake for 2 weeks now and started 16/8 4 days ago and already seen results - on Sun I was 79.6kg and this am 78kg. Struggling to keep going till 11am which is when my window opens but feeling a lot more in control of what I eat goal weight is 75kg to bring me back to a healthy BMI

handmedownqueen · 01/07/2020 17:48

I’m not restricting massively in window about 1600 cals as I know I will give up quickly if I restrict too much

Nicklebox · 09/08/2020 19:11

Can I join in - I'm 10st 7lb atm and target weight is 9st 7lb i'm 5ft 4 have been doing 16/8 for about 3 weeks and have lost 7lb so far. I had been doing quite well before lockdown and lost my weight gained over Christmas. But during lockdown put it all back on, almost down to my pre lockdown weight now. Just need to keep motivated.

Nicklebox · 18/08/2020 11:16

Hi what's happening with you all, has everyone given up. I've managed to lose another 2lb and am now a healthy BMI but want to keep going and get to my target of 9.7 stone.
