Boredom and anxiety in lockdown has definitely derailed weight loss goals.
I feel it is time to take some accountability and get back on track.

Let's support one another in our weekly goals, inspire and start as we mean to go on.

Who is with me?. Join below 😀.

Hi everyone

I started doing 16:8 this week after maintaining and then going up a bit during lockdown. I started calorie counting and cutting down on sugar in January and lost 2.5 stone before lockdown. Really struggled after that and put on 7lb. Started 16:8 this week and hoping for good results. I'm really massive so I've got loads to lose. I'm finding the 16:8 diet stops me snacking in the evening which is my biggest downfall.

Starting weight: 22st
Current weight: 19st 13lb
I don't really have a goal weight. I think my ideal weight should be 8st but getting to 11st or even 15st would be life changing.

Hello every one 👋🏼 can I ask a question - is it better to do this fast every day, or is it better to do it every other day so your body doesn't get too used to it? I have lost a bit of weight by delaying breakfast but I sont want my body to think that's normal now so that if I eat breakfast again I put on weight! Does this make any sense?

Decentsalnotime · 23/08/2020 21:20

I do 16 8
Not to lose weight but just because fits lifestyle (work out in the morning and can’t eat beforehand so it just works out that 16 8)
My question is... Does anyone find that they wake up hungry but then but the time it comes to eat within window (some 5 hours later), the hunger has passed?!

Moodykat · 15/09/2020 12:26

Please can I join? Weighed in yesterday at 13st 10 which is the heaviest I have ever been. I am comfortable around 12 stone and would LOVE to be 11.5.
I know lots of people that have had real success by changing their way of eating to 16:8 so am jumping on the band wagon!
Would love to have some company!
Also, what on earth are you supposed to drink in the morning?!

wildthingsinthenight · 16/09/2020 18:54

Hello! So glad to find you!
Just read about 16/8 today and will start tmrw. Would like to lose at least a stone.
My eating window will be 11-7 as I get up at 6.30 and 12 noon seems a looong way offSmile
I gained weight at the beginning of lockdown then lost 11 pounds then put 9 back on! With keto which my DH does but it is too hardcore for me. Esp during PMT

PenCreed · 17/09/2020 12:11

I have just started 16:8 as a way to lose that lockdown weight gain - and maybe some more of the weight that's crept on over the last few years as a result of a less active job. I'm not sure how much I weigh and I don't really want to look at the scales!

Those of you who've been doing it a bit longer, how do you manage exercise? I'd like to start cycling to the office occasionally, which is about an hour, but wasn't sure if not eating before/after that would give me enough energy! My exercise class in the evening is fuelled by lunch so that's fine (and will be on a different day to the cycling - my legs can only take so much).

Decided to go the whole hog and combine all the diets Grin

So I will do 16:8, and eat between 12pm and 8pm. During those hours I will do 5:2, so 2 days a week i will stick to 600 cals. In those cals I will eat Keto/very low carb as I find this filling.

On the 5 days I fell like screaming and ramming Dairy Milk down my throat, I will eat slimming world so will feel like I am breaking out a bit! But try and stick to low carb/high protein.

If that lot doesnt shift the weight I am not sure what to do!

AndAllOurYesterdays · 28/09/2020 13:34

Signing in. Currently 10st1 goal weight of 9st6. I've been doing 16:8 but find it hard to keep within the hours so some days is more like 9 or 10 hours of eating. I'm tracking my calories and sticking to between 1100 and 1200. I've lost 9lb that I put on over lockdown so far, so now back to where I was at the start of March. Which is annoying, but understandable. It was a very stressful time and I react to stress by comfort eating.

BloggersBlog · 29/09/2020 09:47

Day 4 and 4lbs lost! But as there is another 2 stone to go 3 more like there is still a long way

pointythings · 29/09/2020 11:53

I started 16:8 on the 1st of September and haven't weighed myself - I'm not going to until Christmas. I'm doing 5 days a week, weekends off. I'm frankly amazed at how easy it is and how much weight I've lost already - my new big jeans that I bought in the summer now come off effortlessly without being undone. I don't see this as a diet, it's more a lifestyle change. Once I'm where I want to be, I'm planning to do 2 days for maintenance and see how I go.

Moodykat · 30/09/2020 10:01

I've done just over two weeks. Weighed myself on Monday and have lost 4lbs and an inch and half from my waist - I think I was perpetually very bloated and that seems to have got much better.

Also, as an interesting side benefit, I was having real pain in my feet when I got up after sitting down for too long and that seems to have got loads better. Generally I am feeling great and really enjoying it. I do 16:8 some days and then others I do 18:6, depending on how hungry I am! I keep thinking about stretching it out a bit but not sure I'm ready for that yet!

pointythings · 30/09/2020 10:48

MoodyKat I agree the loss of bloating is an immediate benefit - I noticed it after the first week.

I'm not planning to extend the fast, though I have done 18 hours due to circumstances so I know it can be done.

Apple31419 · 30/09/2020 13:34

Hi everyone, can I join the fast-train? I've been doing 16:8 since May to lose the weight I gained being a slob working from home. But then I moved house and it piled back on so here I go again!

I don't weigh myself but I just want to get back into my size 10 clothes! Im too stingey to buy new ones 😁.

@BloggersBlog I think you're crazy but go for it! I'm back in the swing of things but don't think I could break a fast then tell myself to only have 500 calories 😂 have you got used to it yet?

BloggersBlog · 30/09/2020 15:59

@Apple31419 you are 100% correct, I am mad to do it Grin but am so utterly fed up with seeing the same numbers on those scales!

Weirdly enough I am struggling to actually eat enough. I find if I eat high protein and low carb I am so full it is a bit of a struggle. After 5 days I usually sabotage it all and eat chocolate, that's my MO.

But definitely agree with the lack of bloating, a huge bonus!

Apple31419 · 01/10/2020 07:02

@BloggersBlog so actually you're doing 5:2, 16:8 and low carb on top 💪💪💪 😁 sometimes you need a good blast and anything you do after will seem easy in comparison!

Ooh I might try the high protein then - that's a good tip! My problem is clock watching till I'm allowed to eat then wolfing down chips. Maybe if j had some eggs instead (or beans? What do you eat) I might be able to control myslef better)

BloggersBlog · 02/10/2020 15:06

I have lots of chicken, fish, ham and babybels!! So am having salad at lunch and stirfry and protein for tea. Am trying not to have gluten too Grin

So far so good!
