Yep. 10.5 weeks now with DC #4. First three were planned but I will have 4, 4 and under when this one arrives.

hickorydickorynurseryrhyme · 27/06/2017 10:46

Did you take the MAP you'renot?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/06/2017 10:51

No. Practiced this throughout my 30's.

hickorydickorynurseryrhyme · 27/06/2017 10:55

Pulled out but it's right in my fertile window!

Ah! We did avoid the fertile bit. I'd get the map just to be sure if I were you.

YoureNotASausage · 27/06/2017 11:15

No MAP. Pulled out but was in my fertile window. And I get pregnant easily. I should have known better but had a coil appointment booked and got cocky.

YoureNotASausage · 27/06/2017 11:16

Yes, you need the MAP OP.

I think pull out method should always be used in conjunction with natural family planning. Never have any unprotected sex during fertile days.

Should have taken my own advice.

Guardup · 27/06/2017 11:18

Yes- am 23 weeks pg with no 3 at the ripe old age of 37. Sounds silly now but it was a complete shock as we thought we were so careful! X

TolpuddleFarterOATB · 27/06/2017 11:21

We use the pull-out method - may re-evaluate that after this thread!

(As an aside used it for years, and when we didn't use it got pregnant straight away so it has worked so far...)

silkpyjamasallday · 27/06/2017 17:45

I have a 9 month old DD as a result of pullout method. It worked for 3 years beforehand, we knew that we wouldn't be upset if I did get pregnant however, the opposite in fact, but we didn't want to actively TTC.

perfectpanda · 27/06/2017 17:57

I've got one 'pull out' baby. And I'm currently breast feeding dc3 who was an 'avoid the fertile window' baby, conceived at ripe age of 44... so be careful with these methods if you really don't want to be pregnant. ..

Borangeistheorange · 27/06/2017 18:30

No but I know someone who did. It was the lowest risk time of month as well.

Officially the figures show a 30% chance of failure if used correctly (which if I recall is in conjunction with not having sex at high risk
Times)

mayhew · 27/06/2017 18:32

That's not a method...it used to be known as "Vatican roulette"! MAP is a method.

Frazzle76 · 27/06/2017 18:37

I have a 10 week old conceived with pull out 6 days after LMP. I know it was then as didn't see hubby for Long time before and after.

NorthernLurker · 27/06/2017 18:39

I agree. Withdrawal isn't a contraceptive method. Good luck op.

PuppyMonkey · 27/06/2017 18:41

I have a ten year old pull out "baby."

Lshe · 27/06/2017 18:43

Thanks for your replies. I had been on the mini pill for a while and decided to stop for a bit because of bad spots to see if my skin improved. It didn't really however my libido has and I like knowing when my cycle is and having a period again. When I was on the pill DH and I hardly ever had sex and so I didn't worry too much about it. I bought some condoms and thought I'd be fine for a while whilst I decide on contraception options. One of the times the condom split! Strangely out of nowhere we have started to have more sex prob because libido improved and so the other night it all happened very quickly didn't bother with the condom after what happened last time and now I'm thinking oh shit it's right in my fertile window. Still we both were of the opinion that if it were to happen it wouldn't be the end of the world for us just wasn't planning it that's all.

Yep, sat on her bed waiting for her to go to sleep. She's 6

BossyBitch · 27/06/2017 19:48

Yes, and as far as I remember we only used it twice, too. That would be a 50% failure rate at least in my case.

MachineBee · 27/06/2017 19:49

Yup! She's 30 now! Was intending to have another child but hadn't planned on less than 2 year gap. Still, I survived. Grin

pmppns · 27/06/2017 19:49

Yes- she's nearly 5!

IDontBowlOnShabbos · 27/06/2017 19:52

You'll know in a few weeks then op!
I would say if you change your mind it's better to get the coil as an emergency contraceptive, especially if you've already ovulated. MAP won't stop a pregnancy only delays ovulation.

GruffaloPants · 27/06/2017 19:56

No. Did it for 5y between kids. No problems conceiving when we gave it up - got pregnant first cycle.
