Yep, pulled out + map and still had a baby

FiveYearPlan · 27/06/2017 20:02

Nope - I conceived using the 'put-in' method Grin

FishyCustard · 27/06/2017 20:03

Ooohhhh fuck.

I should have done my research, have been doing this in between coming off hormonal contraception (making me seriously ill) and waiting for dh vasectomy.

Right. Back to the condoms.

sunnycloudyrainy · 27/06/2017 20:03

Shockthis thread has scared the shit out of me!

FishyCustard · 27/06/2017 20:06

And me. Stupidly just thought 'well if he pulls out it's fine isn't it?'

Shock

No, I can only assume there's some leakage before full ejuculation. DH was so sure he was careful but here we are, 4 aged 4 and under in Jan.

SignoraStronza · 27/06/2017 22:22

Nope. For 10 years on and off. Then when decided to have dc1, got pg straight away. Ditto with dc2 5 years later and same with dc3 (no contraception other than bf 18months in the 2 years between dc 2&3). I know it fails and I know it isn't reliable. Guess I've just been really lucky.

Wallywobbles · 27/06/2017 22:38

Yup. Twice.

WithCheesePlease · 27/06/2017 22:45

Nope, we used the pullout method several times a week, for 6 years... So that's about a thousand times and never got pregnant! In saying that, we knew we would be staying together, I wouldn't risk it otherwise!

Miz10 · 27/06/2017 23:03

I've also used this method for the last 8 years and never got caught, I do get worried around my period though if it's a bit late, but it wouldn't be a bad thing for me if i got pregnant.

wigglybeezer · 28/06/2017 07:43

Successfully used it in between babies for years, I think we quite liked the slight feeling of danger! Stopped once we decided we were too old for DC4 though.

BonnesVacances · 28/06/2017 08:10

I did and now have DD(15). Grin

We thought we were pretty good at getting the timing right but obviously something went wrong (in terms of working). I wouldn't recommend it as a contraceptive method unless it wouldn't be a complete disaster if you fell pg. Certainly not with someone who you might not want to have a baby with.

KeepFuckingGoing · 28/06/2017 08:36

Friend did. Twice. Had two terminations. It is unreliable. Turned out she didn't understand that day 1 of her cycle was day 1 of her period. She thought it was when the period ended.

CuriosityDoor · 28/06/2017 19:06

My friends, twin girls, are the result of the pull out method! Somewhat overshare from their mother but it certainly worked as a deterrent!

hickorydickorynurseryrhyme · 10/07/2017 10:21

Arghh! It is so frustrating. I think my period is due either on the 12th or the 14th. I did a Clear Blue test on Saturday and I swear I could see a line. It was so so faint though and I could only see it when I held it up to the light and held it in a certain angle. I've taken two tests since (I know I'm inpatient) and they have both been negative. Now I'm thinking maybe it is all in my head or maybe it is just too early. I guess I am just going to have to wait until the weekend.
