Starting a new thread for NYMT / BYMT hopefuls in 2021.

DD13 is auditioning for NYMT for the second time as stage performer and as musician. We just received an invite to the next round (online workshops).

She was gutted that Covid put a stop to her show (Imaginary) last year so we are keeping everything crossed that she gets another shot.

We've also booked a BYMT audition and she's already in the musician pool there so hopefully a show of some sort this year if we get some kind of normality back again...

Anyone else out there?

My DD is 14, 15 next month

My DD is in that age bracket too- haven't heard anything. I am having to just go ahead and book up other things in the meantime as other opportunities are coming up locally. I wish they would issue the definite Nos first as well.

I've penned a lengthy plea on behalf of all families with kids still in progress.... but not sure I have the guts to send it!!!

Our summer is now pretty busy so if we get musicians or nyt I’ve no idea what will happen?! Worry about that if and when 🤷‍♀️

I'm certainly of the opinion that we need to get on with organising our summer now, for the sake of the whole family.

Well we’ve received an email regarding offer of show as musician for DS today, however it was recalled due to an error but does say correct details will be sent before close of play today

Not sure if at all helpful but dd doing BYMT (rolled over from last year) and only had 1 more, looks like a young teen girl, join the private FB group for that show, as has just been offered a place. They only seem to have a small cast atm (unless loads are not on FB). So I'm.thinking they are still selecting. Fingers crossed for you all and hope you hear soon🤞🏼🤞🏼

Why The Whales Came

Awww @Belshels that's the one I was quite hoping for for DD. It says they want a cast of strong actor musicians, particularly string players. As we've not heard I guess it's not looking good 😢

My DD would have liked "Why The Wales came" sigh

I just don't know, not heard of anyone hearing a no yet, so there is probably still hope, and spaces we think xx

It's bizarre they are pushing the extra auditions so hard when they haven't finished dealing with those that have already auditioned.

Well would you believe it, we’ve just had an offer from BYMT for Peter Pan. So pleased for my DD! We needed some good news.

I really hope you all hear soon, the waiting is agony.

Good luck for recalls tomorrow. DS has come home all bunged up with hayfever, he thinks he'll be fine by the morning. Fingers crossed!

So we already knew what it was going to be, but the official email with DDs BYMT musician offer arrived at 5.30. Feels so good to have SOMETHING nailed down and in writing! Goblin Market 😀 Now, hopefully not too long to wait to know about stage...
