I’ve got three students going for it this year. They’re all in Bristol today. Anyone else?

My ds was there. He had a great day. How did your students get on? Just the waiting now.

They were all really positive about it. One (not actually a student any more - left last year but I still see him as "one of my kids") has done it twice before and said that the standard was immensely high, but he was still really positive. The other two were there for the first time and both really enjoyed the day. They've both said that it was a really worthwhile experience, even if it doesn't go any further which is a great attitude to have. Fingers crossed for recalls! Good look to your DS.

Hi. My daughter goes to the Manchester audition on the 27th. Do you know what the day involved?

They split them by age, then they do workshops in acting & movement and sing their songs.

One of my three has been recalled. Apparently the standard is really high this year.

Does anyone know the dates of the 2018 productions please? This always seems to be the missing info for candidates and it is so important?!!

Ah....as I suspected, anyone in upper sixth is kind of scuppered by the Easter rehearsals. Back to YMTUK I guess!

My daughter auditioned on Saturday. There were A LOT of people there and she said the talent was incredible. It's now a waiting game. How long did you have to wait to get the first result?

Anyone get anything this year? Literally just seen my (now ex) student and he got into Sleepy Hollow. He was beyond excited!

How come I've only just found this thread?

We "spoke" on here two years ago as my son went for the NYMT and you had two of your students (IIRC) applying. My son had a recall but then wasn't placed.

This time around he was recalled and we have found out today that he has got a part in "The Beautiful Game." We are all so thrilled. I had been warning him all week that the chance of getting a part was so small (as obviously didn't want to get his hopes up) so we were shocked and amazed today when we read the e mail.

My DS got Super Hero, he really doubted himself after recalls this year so super chuffed for him. Hard hearing ‘no’s’ though... Congratulations to others. 😊

Fantastic K20Mac! Obviously I’m not this lad’s mum but I was his drama teacher for 7 years and have gone through the highs and lows with him. I’ve helped him prep for 3 years of NYMT so it’s brilliant that he’s got something. He left school last year but still comes to me for audition prep - which is heavy at the moment!

DS is lucky this will be 3rd year, think that made the thought of not getting in harder, he knew what he’d be missing. He’s learnt so much each year and grown both as a performer and as a person. Such a wonderful opportunity for them all. X
