How has running changed your body shape?

Has it affected your mental state too in terms of mood / confidence etc?

Ive been running for just over a year and it has definately improved my body shape - i am much more toned and my legs are slimmer

I absolutely love it - it is my release - sometimes i run and think god what am i doing its too hard but most of the time its a great way to keep weight off and feel good about myself - i have also made some nicce friends at running club.

HAve you just started? thinking about starting?

I've only been running for 5 months or so but my legs are definitely thinner. I've lost weight without dieting.

I'm smaller all over, and have lost more inches than the pounds I've lost.

I do feel better mood-wise. If I can't get out for a run I can feel my mood deteriorate.

Yes & yes.

I started 7 weeks ago but have only been out 16 times in that period, have got up to running 5 mins / walking 2 mins. Not amazing progress for most folk but downright astonishing for me!!!

I have noticed feeling more positive and happy with my body - my terrible tummy area is definitely improved although I am still 2 stone overweight and haven't lost any amount of weight (am not dieting though).

When I ran regularly I noticed my legs were much more muscular (in a good way) and my abs were more toned - teamed running with weights sessions - and I lost weight. Now only run once or twice a week and mix in with classes (as dont have time at lunchtime during the week, when I exercise, to do long runs).

It definitely helped my body shape - I can say that now having not trained regularly for a year!
I am back on the wagon now and have put C25K app on my iphone, using it regularly as it worked for me. Sadly I got up to 10k and fell off the wagon - but I know I can do it!

Has hugely changed my body shape, boobs have shrunk loads (thank goodness!, bum no longer wobbles, legs slimmer and a flatish stomach (yay!)

Very cheered to hear all this! I'm now on week 4 of the Couch to 5k and am just starting to feel a bit more toned.

I'm absolutely buzzing after my runs and I'm quite depressed when it's my rest day and I can't go out.

I hope the trend continues!
