Sports physio seems amazing.

Finally bit the bullet and made an appointment with a sports physio as I am unable to run atm. Tendonitis in my foot - very painful toes are lower foot.

Chap took a quick look and poke at my foot and straight away said 'your problem isn't in your toes, it's here' massaging the top of my foot/lower shin. Nearly has to scrape me off the ceiling! I'd never have beleived it TBH. Had some electro therapy and massage and been told to dunk my foot in hot water, and then cold water for 2 mins each for 20 minutes. Going back on Friday. When it's less painful he will teach me some massage techniques. He says he won't see me too much as it's down to me to treat it mostly - with massage and the hot/cold water thing.

Hurts like hell right now but hoping that's a good sign .

Hurray hurray hurray! Hope it works out for you.

Thanks moshi.

I am supposed to soak my feet for 20 mins 3 times a day (at least). Which is proving difficult.

I think this guy must walk on water

Second session today - and only one more booked for next week which he reckons I won't need. Got to carry on with hot/cold water thing and the massage. he also recommended a running shops in Bristol and Exeter for some good shoes - that I have to get properly fitted this time

Am so tempted to run this weekend - just to see if I can.... but probably be daft at least until I get some shoes.

Hold back Orm. It'll be worth it in the long run to hold off and ease in more gently than you think you should. Nothing to lose that way. Hoping this works for you!

It's still sore but so much less. I have held back - mainly because I was too busy this weekend but also because I am actually scared to find out how unfit I am

We visited a running shop in Bristol today (nearest one to us). They measured my gait and found me some shoes - Saucony Progrid Ride 2. £75 smackers Never paid more than 40 before - from discount stores... But at least they shouldn't do any more harm.

Apparently I subpronate. I never knew that but looking at the wear on my boots I can see that is the case.
