Running and Asthma? I thought I could hear seagull until I realised it was me making that noise!

Help. I want to start running again but I now have asthma. I think it's a catch 22 situation as I'm fairly sure my asthma wouldn't be as much of a problem if I was fitter.

Swimming and cycling don't give me the same problems and with cycling i can put my inhaler in my jersey pockets anyway. But i would really like to run again as I lose weight and get fitter quicker.

Those of you with asthma who run, will it get better? or how do you work around it?

TIA.

My son gets exercise induced asthma sometimes and takes his inhaler before doing sports if it's currently a problem.

Of course, you should talk to your GP or asthma nurse or whoever you see about things. That's just what he does and it works for him.
Good luck - I took up running again (after not running for nearly 15 years) a while ago and love it.
