Running shoes for rough ground?

Any good but not too pricey shoe recommendations for running on rough country tracks? Am not an experiences runner but the trainers I used on London pavements don't feel supportive enough to my ankles etc.

fell running shoes?

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 01/02/2010 12:43

this sort of thing or you can get ones with spikes!

Good luck sally. I love off-road running but I can never really relax as my ankles go over really easily. I'm not sure that any shoes will be able to cope with really rough terrain. I can only cope with reasonably well-trodden footpaths.

Inov-8s are trail shoes.

I live on a farm and run almost exclusively on farm tracks and fields.

I wear Merrell trail running shoes, run 4/5 times per week and have no problems at all with them.

Hi there
I do alot of fell running and the inovs are very good. My local shop who specialise in fell and off road shoes are having a good sale at the moment so I have attached a couple of links to their sale pages.

The asics enduros on the top of this page (below) I have used a lot for cross country and I feel are very supportive and what a bargain for £20!
