I'm thinking walking first, then swimming after some time and work up to running again.

What did you do?

Thanks

How old is your baby ? Do easy stuff 1st like walking and swimming , but dont over do anything , your body will let you know . Your body takes 9 months to go back to normal after having a baby so dont push yourself . With my 1st child i went for a long walk after i had her a week and near put myself back into hospital ,. Its not a race to get back to normal

6 weeks post normal birth I started classes at the local gym like pilates and low impact stuff. Gradually built up to spin and aerobic type exercise over course of few weeks, but was exercising 4-5 times per week from 6 weeks on - purely to get rid of baby weight in time for returning to work when baby was 11 wks old.

Booked for c/s for DC3 on Tuesday.... can't see its going to be the same this time!!!

Started gentle short walks a week or so after birth (c-sec), tried running after 5 weeks and it felt fine so continued. Returned to gym classes - spinning, pump, but taking it very easy from 8 weeks I think, as DS could go in the gym creche once he'd had his first set of jabs, which must have been around then.

I was surprised, I thought I'd be off exercise for months after a c-section, but recovered rapidly and it just felt right.

walks after 48 hours, gym after 2 weeks, running after 4 weeks, personal trainer after 6 weeks. I did excersize upto the day I gave birth though and took it very easy getting back into it.

lots of walking - back on the hills a week after giving birth (but didn't have any birth problems).

After dd2 I was recommended the Davina pre and post birth DVD and used to do that quite religiously when dd2 was napping - also she would sometimes watch mummy do her odd things quite happily!

Then took up running once I felt more like "me" again (and had been given a large kick up the arse!!)

Ds2 is 3 weeks old now.

Went for a long walk the other day and it was really fine. So the only thing stopping me is preferring the warmth of my home to the cold of a long walk!

I will just take it easy and do what I think I can. You are all right, my body will let me know what is possible.
