New to Yoga - Recommended reading?

Have just started going to a yoga class again after birth of DD (now 8 months). Prior to her birth I had done some yoga in pregnancy & about a terms worth of classes pre-pregnancy. I am interested in reading that provides practical instruction that would help me establish some simple daily practice but am also very much interested to learn more about the history/philosophy/spirituality behind it all. Suggestions please.

maybe this
or anatomy book

or ask your teacher for recommendations?

Thanks for the suggestions EldonAve, the book written from an anatomical perspective sounds fascinating. Is that my geeky side coming to the fore?

I think I will tell the geek that I'm sorry for all the times he's been denied & promise to nurture him lovingly from now on

I love Yoga Mind and Body from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. It´s very strong on the different postures, great photos, physical and mental benefits of each posture, etc.

Also have a great DVD: Jayne Middlemiss - Love Yoga, also only 5 quid on Amazon. The yogi is great, brilliant descriptions of what to do so not reliant so much on watching him (or her). 2 levels, c 1 hr each, great for nap time! It has kept me really fit!

Thanks Sachertorte, only picked up the message after all this time but will check it out
