I think the time has come to get some googles, my usual experience of googles has been them fogging and filling with water so would like to avoid this. Any suggestions? Will they help my swimming?

And I want a swim cap that stays on my head. I have an el cheapo Tesco silicone one but it feels like it is popping off when I swim front crawl and so I have to keep readjusting it after every length. I want one I can put on and it will stay on! I have shoulder length thin hair so I don't think its my hair pushing it off?

Oh and long shot but does anyone use the Paul Mitchell chlorine shampoo?

Thanks!

Sorry I don't wear a cap and I use normal shampoo, but would recommend Zoggs goggles

Thanks where do you get yours from?

Yes I second that, I have gone over to Zoggs Athena (women's style), I just got mine from normal-type sports shops I think though can't remember details. They don't give me such bad panda eyes as others, are quite comfy and relatively good for leaking and fogging. The only small problem I've had with them (apart from losing them!) is the adjusty bits at the sides sometimes come open in my bag so the strap goes the wrong length, but it's easily corrected. Can't help with the other Qs though!

I get mine from the shop at my gym, but you can get them from good sports shops.

Zoggs goggles good - I have a silicone speedo cap which stays on very well - worth paying for a better one, I think. It's quite difficult to get on the first couple of times, as it's thick.

Thank you

I hate the swimming cap but my hair is battered by chlorine so needs must, I want to wear a sign saying 'yes I know I look like a tit' was mucho annoyed today when i suffered the indiginity of wearing it into the pool and then it fell off, grrrr.

Caps are alright - look at the olympics and see if you still feel silly! I like all my hair out of the way, and pretend I'm Rebecca Adlington. In really slow motion.

sleepwhenidie · 28/04/2009 21:53

Are you putting the cap on wet hair? Should stay on if so...

smurfgirl · 28/04/2009 23:27

Hair is damp but not wet (quick spritz under the shower) so maybe thats the answer!

Extreme mirth at Rebecca Adlington in slow-mo, I shall think of that next time I am swimming!
