Any tips?

DH is running the marathon tomorrow and I will have DD1 (5), DD2 (2), mum and dad - dad not great at walking.

Would like to see as much of it as I can.

Sorry, cant help, but wanted to say "Good Luck!" to your dh

Where are you coming from?

Good Luck to your DH - am watching my friends kids so she can go down - we would have brought the kids but too much palava - I think she will be moving about a bit to make sure that she can get photos etc - but think she is also hoping to settle at one of the beer stops.

Dh always stands in the Highway, then I see him at mile 14 and 21 (approx). One year he also went to Surrey Quays too but that was a bit touch & go to get back to the Highway as the Tube is completely manic.
The second time, he came to the finish as well and watched from Cancer Research UK hq.

The Embankment is good, lots of friends have been there, Birdcage Cage Walk is packed so the DDs would probably feel bored & squashed.

Good luck to your dh, it's an amazing experience. Oh & pack him a sandwich, I've always craved a tuna sandwich at the end - probably in response to all the gels and sugary things!

Riven

We're in SE London, was thinking of getting the DLR to Island Gardens/Mudchute, then try and get back on and go to Canary Wharf where I think we'll be able to see him a few times.

Then rush over St James Park to meet him at the end.

Well Mudchute was a great place - Canary Wharf a nightmare and somehow managed to find him in St James Park after he'd finished.

If he does it again I wouldn't bother with Canary Wharf but it was a great day out
