running - basic question! on ball of feet or foot flat down when running??

i realise i'm fairly flat-footed when i run and wonder if this is worse for the joints, more tiring not doing this though. any advice? TIA.

I have possibly the beginnings of a hip injury which has had me searching the web and I came across this site. Basically it suggests running as though you were not wearing shoes, which is a more flat-footed and bent-kneed posture to reduce impact on the body and joints. Worth a look, anyway.
