Baby cycle helmet?

Does anyone know where we can get a really little cycle helmet? dd is 2.11 but has the head circumfrence of a 1 year old - 45cm. We tried a hat that went from 46cm today in Halfords and it just didn't fit at all, even with all of the pads it just slipped off her head side-ways. Any advice? The makes I have come across as possibilities are the 'Met Elfo infant' - the 'Giro Me 2 kids' and the 'nutcase little nutty kids helmet'. If anyone has successfully fit one of these on a little head it would be useful to know

I think we have the met elfo infant - and dd has been wearinng it since 12 months. You do have to do the straps quite tight because they don't have much chin definition iyswim but it certainly stays on ok.

thanks. I'm going to ring all of the local cycle stores and find out who stocks it so we go and try.

OUrs came from a local independant shop - you'll definately get better service from that sort of place than Halfords. (Though I have found Halfords to be very good - just not with anything out of the ordinary iyswim)

Hiya everyone
I am having a similar problem to Hangingbellyofbabylon. I have a 12month old with a head size of 43cm! I have gone out and brought a baby seat to fit on my bike but I am having no luck in finding a cycle helmet to fit my gremlin. I tried Halfords who go down to 46 cm but even with the pads fitted it was huge!!I would really appreciate any advice on where to find a helmet. Thanks
P.S. IF I do manage I will post on forum

The Met Elfo Infant is the smallest I've found and starts at 46cm. The Nutcase Little Nutty and the Giro Me 2 both start at 48cm.

(to clarify, the Met Elfo Infant isn't the only make that starts at 46cm, but I haven't found any that start smaller and it's the one we have)

Allegedly, the Specialized Small Fry Toddler helmet starts from 44cm. But I've never seen one in a real shop.

Hiya
Just an update. I have looked extensively on the internet and I believe that the Specialised small fry toddler helmet as mentioned above is about the smallest helmet at 44cm+ (plus it comes with padding). I know halfords don't do this but I have a good local cycling shop (Leisure Lakes) that are happy to order in goods to try. I will contact them and see how I get on! Plus they come in a cute design!!

Oh and thanks for the quick advice PortandLemon!

Same problem here -

I am thinking of getting this trespass helmet from amazonwhich is 44 to 48 cm and at least is cheap at 11.99. Has anyone tried it?

Like the nutcase but 45 quid seems a bit steep...

Would prefer to try before buying but have no patience to trek round the shops and dd has even less.
