Hello!

Some family members have signed up for a 5K next year and my daughter has recently told that I’m old and can’t run 🫣

Shes right. I’m very unfit. Would anyone be interested in doing this couch to 5k thing starting now? I’m struggling to get going so a bit of peer motivation may help.

id love to surprise people by turning up to the run on the day 😅

Aware there is another thread going but has been going a while.

cheers

Just start and tell yourself you're going to finish it. No excuses no days off.

Three runs a week the most it'll take us half an hour and I can't believe anybody is too busy to do that.

I just finished it and now can run a 5K in just over half an hour. I am not a runner.

Do it!
I started 6 weeks ago - over the years I’ve started and stopped so many times and this is the longest I’ve lasted before.
Whats working for me this time - not skipping ahead because I’ve found the intervals easy and I’ve been listening to audiobooks - I’m finding that keeps me going more than music.

Can you walk 5k? Because I would actually build up to that first.

I’m on Wk 7 and it’s taking me 40 mins. I’m so slow but it always feels good afterwards! Well done OP.

I tried this but Steve Cram’s voice clashed with narrator and I missed what was going on!!

Honestly, just do it. I believe that anyone can get through C25k and learn to run. Running in the early days is hard but even when it was hard during the run itself I have never regretted going for a run. You always feel so much better after.

just put in your shoes and give it a go.

I did it 8 years shop and ended Up running a half marathon. Have recently bought a treadmill, maybe this thread will give me the motivation to restart.

Thanks all for the encouragement.

Child has been unwell so been impossible to leave her. On the mend though so my plan is to do the first run 🏃‍♀️ using the couch to 5k app tomorrow morning :)

Im actually looking forward to it

Run number 1 complete. I found that very very hard! Although I ran for only 8 mins total, I’m as red as a beetroot and wanted to stop several times 😬

anyone joining starting up this week?

Oh I started couch25k today!
Went for my first run this morning and really enjoyed it.

I've been talking about getting back into it for years but we had lots of struggles conceiving our second child. Well second child is nearly 6 months old and my 6 year old is desperate to do junior park run. My husband is refusing to do it with her so I needed to get my bum in gear.

I've announced to everyone that im going to do a 10k next year so hopefully that will keep me motivated.

Ooh ok welcome! Hopefully we can keep the motivation going. Well done getting yourself out with a 6 month old at home, I know how exhausting that can be.

im feeling rather good about my first run this morning but can feel that I’m gonna have to go big on the stretching etc as my muscles are tight and sore
