Being bombarded by the miracle that is t’ai chi walking 😆 Is there anyone who has tried it and is willing to share what, if anything, they actually achieved after a month of doing so? TIA.

Do you enjoy walking and so a fair bit every day?

what would you be hoping to achieve?

Please, before you send them money do your research. Thai Chi Walking is an increasingly well known scam on YouTube etc that will end with you saddled with unwanted charges and impossible to get-rid-of subscriptions.

Search YouTube for “Thai Chi Walking scam”for confirmation.

Unless of course the OP is about to attempt to flog something related to this to us!

Don’t subscribe OP. As PP said it’s a scam and there are lots of exercise videos on YouTube that are free and work well. You can do chair yoga, fabulous 50s, weight training videos, t’ai chi workouts, dance videos, general fitness videos, pilates, Zumba which would all be just as good and wouldn’t be scams. It’s just a question of consistency.

There is that!

Haha, definitely not selling anything, I'm far too lazy for that! I'm just doing some research before I commit my time and energy to it. I have no intention of paying for anything. I was hoping to get responses which say " yes I've tried it and it really does work". However, I very much suspect most people would say "the videos (not the AI ones) are a complete lie don't waste your time." Although I tend to think that people who've tried it with absolutely no result might not comment because they might feel too embarrassed to admit it. With it being pushed so much on social media there surely must be someone who's tried it. Let's see if anyone comes forward.

The videos make absurd claims. As if anyone can get that fit that quickly.

Tai Chi however is good. My Dad used to teach it and I am looking for a class. It’s excellent for balance as you age, relaxing and good for cognition as you learn the moves ( learning new things is important for brain health).

moltopianissimo · 19/07/2026 19:04

No, but I've seen the incredibly annoying ads.

Indianajet · 19/07/2026 19:10

Tai Chi, chair yoga and aqua fit are good - they won't miraculously transform you in a week though! Avoid the Tai Chi walking adverts, they are a scam.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/07/2026 19:18

Tai chi walking is the new cortisol belly, it's just picking up key words of something that has been in a few articles and making up a crap, overpriced, completely unrealistic exercise and/or diet programme to fleece the gullible.

BetweenTheThoughts · 20/07/2026 11:55

I've seen those videos everywhere too! 😄 From what I've read, tai chi walking can help with balance, posture, flexibility and getting you moving more mindfully, but I wouldn't expect miracles after a month.

DPotter · 20/07/2026 12:16

From what I have seen of the Tai Chi walking ads - it may be walking be it ain't Tai Chi. I'm a qualified Tai Chi instructor so I do know what I'm taking about.

As others have said Tai Chi is a very good way of exercising and has lots of health benefits but find someone to teach you in person and don't waste your money on these ads.

OneSparklyGoat · 20/07/2026 12:23

Do you walk now? I think a month of any type of walking for someone who is sedentary would produce positive results.

If you aren’t planning to pay, why not give it a shot and see if you like it? There’s no commitment involved; can start with 5-10 minute sessions 3 days per week. I procrastinate via “research”.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/07/2026 17:18

You could try the Japanese walking method which has had a bit of internet presence recently that this nonsense might be cashing in on. You don't need a subscription though as it's pretty straightforward and the research says it gets better results than just regular walking for the same amount of time. https://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/japanese-walking
