Running Gear Recommendations needed

I've completely lost my running mojo. It's been absent for some time but I've decided that the best way to get it back is to treat myself to some new running gear. Trainers are sorted but hit me with some recommendations for nice vests/t-shirts and shorts. Not necessarily lots of colours but good quality, nice to wear stuff

Running gear is very individual I find. Some brands fit me well, some don't. Some styles look good, some don't. I can't wear loose shorts as they bunch round my crotch like a nappy, so it's tight shorts only for me.

Decathlon are good value. I have stuff from there that's a decade old.

You need more pockets than you think.

A tie at the waist is always useful.

If you're in between sizes for a top, buy the bigger one. Slightly too loose is much better than close fitting.

Black is almost always the best colour for bottoms as it doesn't show sweat stains

I like Ron Hill leggings. The Run Every Day range. Good elastic waistband, drawstring, pockets, reliably don’t fall down.

My favourite shorts are from the parkrun range, but I also have them from Decathlon and Acai.

Tops, I am less particular about, as long as they are long enough. M&S Goodmove is a good mid price range. Most of my tops are from them, they do a good tank style in the summer, which is not too revealing (either for modesty or sunburn).

in the winter I generally wear a merino base layer, merino socks and a Paramo wind proof/drizzle prood smock top.

If you want a treat to make you use it I’d suggest Lululemon or Sweaty Betty (often have decent sales and will last for years!)
If you want to really guilt trip yourself, a Garmin 😆 My husband did this to me and it did actually work. All this tech on my wrist telling me I was retraining got me moving again

I bought some running shorts in Sainsbury’s recently, they were cheap but seem good quality, I’m really pleased with them. They have a pocket on the side and a tiny hidden pocket inside the waistband for your key. I have leggings from there too which I really like, they’re very similar to my sweaty Betty ones and about a quarter of the price!
