Sudden knee pain at the gym

I’ve been going to the gym for four years and was a (vv slow) jogger before that so exercise is not new to me but suddenly im having lots of knee pain after workouts. Im trying to stick to non impact exercises while the pain is still there but it’s not really improving.
I have recently started jogging on the treadmill after a break due to breaking my toe so it could be this but it’s not that intense (ten minutes and slow pace) so I’d be surprised.
im going to invest in some better trainers but any other tips in terms of exercises or lifestyle tips that might help?
im going through the menopause so could be linked but again this is not new.

See a physiotherapist. We can't diagnose on the internet.

Stretch, mobilise, do lots of things that mobilise and strengthen your ankles and legs. I'd wonder about the impact of the broen toe on your use of your foot, your gait, and your hips. Everything in our body connects, and a foot injury can cause changes in hips and leg actions.

yes, see a physio

knee pain often comes from a weak hip and core.

Definitely try to see a well reviewed / recommended physio asap. If you’d like to keep moving in short term, before you see a physio, id suggest elliptical or swimming, things easier on knee joint. Hope the pain eases v soon
