Lost 3 stone through jabs and nasty bout of food poisoning in India. I would like to tone up flabby arms and thighs . I am 60 yrs old and weigh approx 10 stone. Can anyone recommend excercises or You Tube videos? I am vegetarian and reasonably fit and work full time in an active job.TIA

You can tone muscle not skin, so if it’s loose skin you’ll need surgery.

It depends on your age. Many years ago, in my 30s, I lost 4st, and the skin did shrink with me. I’m now older, and a few years ago lost a lot of weight. I exercise frequently and have toned, well defined muscles, but after three years, I have learnt to accept that the loose skin on top isn’t going to go away. Short of surgery, there’s nothing more I can do.

If it’s fat filled flab then you have a chance through building muscle but if it’s loose overstretched skin there’s not a lot you can do.

im 20 years younger and also lost around 3 stone through diet and I exercise. My arms are a lot slimmer and more toned than they were as I have exercised (running and weights) throughout my weight loss. They’re actually the thing I’m happiest with from an aesthetic point of view (I’m very most pleased with how fit I feel and how far and fast I can run).

Despite this I do still have a little sag in my upper arms where the skin was a bit over stretched. It’s not bad, but there’s nothing that can really be done about it. No amount of working out will rectify over stretched skin. It’s not bad enough for surgery so I’ll just have to put up with it.
