Experiences with David Lloyd fees?

I've got a new David Lloyd opening near me and they've just released the introductory prices. It's not quite as eye-wateringly expensive as I had expected so I'm considering it. However, the club isn't due to open until "autumn" and you are signing up for a year's membership from then. I see they have small print saying the prices can go up every January. So I'm thinking the price they quote may only be good for 1 or two months and come January they could whack a massive increase on and you'd have no recourse.

Does anyone have any experience with David Lloyd and how bad this could be. The current price quoted is £150ish per month. Could it leap up into the £200s in January or is it more likely to just go up £10 or so?
I don't want to sign up to something where they can essentially trap me into a price way in excess of what I agreed to.

Anyone got any experience to share?

We joined one last October and we haven't had any price increase yet. Ours is not one of the fancy ones with outdoor pool and tennis, so maybe it depends on the facilities or area. We are really happy with the switch from our old gym and have been using it loads!

I’m a fairly long term member and mine has crept up by about £10 a year

We joined, they put the price up a few months later despite renovations meaning the pool was closed. We did not renew our membership.

Mine went up by about 5pp (per month) in January this year

Thanks all, this is reassuring.

Our local one is over £200 per month and they have now introduced a sneaky new charge now they are busy. The classes book up quickly a week before when the slots are released so now if you pay an extra £50 per month you can booking 8 days before not 7, so in actual fact it's now £250 a month if want to get a class slot. I have joined a small group personal training gym AND a pilates studio and only pay £130 a month for both.

Our local one want £400 a month for two adults and two kids. We found it went up gradually but you get the chance to leave each year. It never went up in between.
