Walking pad, worth it?

I'm considering getting a walking pad for my birthday and wondering if anyone has one and how they find it.
Esp wondering if anyone runs on one? I would be looking to use it for walking and running (i am a very slow runner!) so figure I could get away with it!

I really like mines got it 2nd hand on Facebook. I can just jump on for half an hour for getting my steps up.

I've got one. It goes up to 6mph. I can quite happily slow run on it.
Only downside, if you're not steady on your feet or easily distracted you can fall off.

A hard no from me. I got one, walked on it and then was violently sick

if you’re in any way prone to motion sickness don’t do it

Buckfastburps · 17/03/2026 21:19

I have one that I use 4 or 5 times a week. I do a quick 10 minute speed walk at the moment, trying to build my stamina. My plan is to use it for longer periods eventually.

I did get some motion sickness initially (wasn't actually sick), but I've got used to it now and am fine.

I haven't tried running, but mine goes up to 12km/h, so I definitely could if I wanted to.

I think I'd get one with a handlebar!😁
I've used a regular treadmill with no problem so hopefully a walking pad would be fine too.
It would be handy for walking on bad weather days or when I'm stuck in waiting on deliveries. I would really like to start running again too, unless I went first thing in the morning before I drank anything I would just be thinking about how far away the nearest bathroom was and if I sneezed whilst running would my middle aged bladder cope!😂

I have one and use it run 100km over a month every month. The most I do at anyone time would be 10km. It has a handle bar. Mine goes up to 14kmph. Handy as my running pace is around 8kmph and sprints up to 10kmph. Got it in a sale on Amazon for £100 thereabouts so far it’s lasted 18 months and still going strong. It lives in the garage/gym as it’s quite noisey imo.

I have a topture 4 in 1 one with the 9% incline off Amazon and love it. Walking and jogging on it.
