Does anyone else follow YWA?

What video/s of hers have you done recently?

Is anyone following her February calendar?

She calms me down and cheers me up at the same time. Much needed during this bloody miserable weather we are having. Does anyone know where the sunshine has gone?

Is anyone interested in using this as an accountability thread?

I'm on day 7 of move. I prefer flow. Center was nice but a bit slow paced for me.

I'm just going to work my way through all of the series eventually.

@Yogachick , honestly it's a case of weighing up the stress of taking her in for a few weeks vs the stress of dealing with other family opinions if I don't do it, and one just edged out the other. It's going to be challenging though.

Yesterday I found a great 15 minute Adriene video - Flow On The Go. I really enjoyed this one for a short but fast-paced flow which really made me feel like I'd moved my body. Sometime I crave the slow and gentle and sometimes I need something like this. I think I'll return to this one.

Yogachick · 11/03/2026 13:09

@AgentCooperdreamsofTibet i think you’re amazing for doing that!
on the go flow is lovely and peppy, a very popular one. I’m supposed to be doing day 9 of Flow today but I’ve found myself a little bored with 😞
@Owlmoonstar I liked Move, I’m a little bored with Flow. I’m trying to push through as this is what always happens. I think some of the likes and dislikes depend on what else is happening in life at the time. Revolution was my absolute favourite at my peak of yoga fitness

Im coming towards the end of Move. I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me massively.

I haven't done revolution.

I think next up for me is the Breath series.

I attempted the splits the other day and I was absolutely mind blown at how close I am compared to before. It was empowering

Also, if you get bored, maybe you're better off just doing random videos each day, as opposed to a 30 day series?

Just have a scroll through, save the ones you like the look of and create your own playlist.

I’ve got a week left of Flow. And I feel much better. I’m sure my posture is better. Even though I adapt a lot.
I’ve never done Breathe.
I like the 30 days as I feel that it builds and I like consistency. Left to my own devices I give up

Being able to almost do splits is exciting!

Ooh Adriene fans! I love yoga with Adriene, even though I don’t actually enjoy yoga that much. I’ve found it really helps with my posture and balance, and even running and football feel easier with regular yoga practices.

At one point I managed to stop smoking by asking myself "Do you think Adriene would go and buy cigarettes right now?" and the answer was always no, even though for all I know she might be on a packet a day of Marlboro!

Firstly, sending you love and hugs re the Breast cancer diagnosis.

Secondly, I believe that everyone is different and there isn't a 'one size fits all' when it comes to exercise.

I am very sensitive to stress, so intense cardio and weights increases my cortisol levels and I end up feeling shit. Water retention, poor sleep, sugar cravings. All that crap. My lower back and knees do not like heavy weight lifting either.

I do however, do some upper body weight lifting twice a week, 20 mins max, as my body can tolerate that.

I do about 40 mins yoga during the week daily, and whatever I feel like on the weekend. I think that doing yoga has reduced my stress levels, calmed my parasympathetic system and that has a knock on effect where I don't crave comfort food. I am more in tune with my hunger signals, and I sleep better. So no craving carbs for quick energy after poor sleep.

As for flexibility, I was not flexible AT ALL. My flexibility and mobility has improved a lot. I'm still far from an elite gymnast style flexibility 🤣 but I can see improvement and I like it. It makes me feel good.

OMG I’m so glad I bookmarked yo @Owlmoonstar , abandoning yoga has done this for me,there’s a clear line. I’ve been doing weights and loving it to be fair but gradually getting more grumpy, stressed,my sleep has deteriorated massively, sugar cravings up ,feel uncomfortably puffy,I’m very negative and I’ve gained 4 lb. Plus my poorly back, which initially improved ,is distressed and niggly again. Back to my mat,I just need to find a way not to get bored

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 30/03/2026 07:29

I love YWA!
In January I decided I wasn't going to put pressure on myself to run or do weights every other day when it's dark and cold and miserable and instead did her 30 days of yoga challenge and it was great. I'd highly recommend for anyone who wants to start or who like myself did yoga years ago and wanted to find a way back. It starts off slow and then you build on your practise every day.

AgentCooperdreamsofTibet · 30/03/2026 10:32

I've returned to YWA and to this thread, after what seems like 3 months dealing with my mum. Not going to dwell on that here - it's not the thread for it, but what I will say is that over the last few weeks, my eating habits have completely changed and I've done hardly any exercise - not even walking. My body is suffering - I feel still and bloated and need to get back to me.

Took mum home on Saturday and started Flow that afternoon. I'd like to say I'm already feeling the benefits but not quite yet. I cannot turn my mind off to focus on the videos and on the breathing and I'm struggling with positions which used to come easily to me. I know it will get better and I will continue to practice, hopefully feeling small improvements every day. As Adriene says, the hardest part is showing up the the mat - and I'm doing that.

yes the hardest part is showing up.

When I’ve not fell in the mood I put on the next video to see how she starts. And I hear her cheery hello everyone. And that gets me started.

im very averse to moving and give up easily.

@Yogachick on the other thread I very nearly gave up when you stopped but you popped back up and said keep going! That helped! Re your boredom. Maybe tell yourself what I used to tell my kids .. that boredom is ok!!

I’ve been sleeping better and hadn’t linked the yoga with that. But the timing is suspicious. For that alone it’s worth it. Must remind myself.

Yes. What about yoga with Kassandra YouTube channel? I think that's her name anyway! Maybe Adrienne isn't the right instructor for you?

OP posts:
Yogachick · 30/03/2026 17:13

@Owlmoonstar didn’t really gel with Kassandra. Weirdly enough I love Adriene most of the time,or I did when she put more effort into the app. It’s just some of the practices are very samey and there’s minimal scope to advance the practice using just Adriene. Charlie Follows can be great but I miss the loving chat Adriene brings. Huge scope for advancing though,I’ve bought several of CF courses with that aim but I then miss Adriene. I’ve tried Sarah Beth, she seemed great but over time a lot of the practice structures were very samey, I came to dread her ‘let’s flow’ phrase.Everyone has a style I guess.I’m going to finish Flow, but if I hit a hiccup day I’ll choose something from my huuuge favourites list, that I rarely refer to for some unknown reason.

Savonne · 30/03/2026 17:14

Ania Maggiano does a great routine about her

Yogachick · 30/03/2026 17:18

@Pinkfluffypencilcase being accountable definitely helps and I think you’re right re boredom, sometimes the most growth can come when you least expect it, as shown now I’m back to Flow. If I’d pushed on I’d have got past the boredom as the very next practice was great. Thanks for still showing up in the other thread. Back to it for April!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 30/03/2026 17:25

@Yogachick very Adrienne that boredom leads to growth.

Looking forward to group thread yoga!

Yes, don't force yourself to do a video you're not vibing with, pick something different for that day!

Today is Flow Day 30 for me! It took until around day 9 to click but then I really started feeling the benefits. Had a bit of an energy dip around day 21-23 but actually feeling quite sad bout coming to the end now. Obviously, I realise the answer to this is to keep the momentum going and keep practicsing regularly, as I used to do. Hoping this thread will hold me accountable.

It has been a couple of years since I last did Flow. I think I prefer Centre and Home but it was good to revisit this one. The videos have been a good length but there are far too many bridges and boats for my liking 😂 A few things I've noticed though, in terms of my own personal yoga development: I'm comfortable pushing up to plank after cobra - I used to always take the all-fours option but plank feels more natural now. My heels are finally nearing the ground on downward dog and I'm finding the position much more comfortable than before. I can also get my back heel to stay down in pyramid.

I'll never be able to do crow though 😂

squashyhat · 21/04/2026 12:37

Can I join the thread? I have been doing live yoga sessions for several years and the teacher is great, but I'm going through some really tough mental and physical challenges at the moment so based on this thread have subscribed to Adriene for some extra help. I did her 'heavy hearts' one this morning which is exactly where I am right now and felt it really helped. I think the 'spiralling' one needs to be next.

Of course!

I am now currently doing her Breath series.

So far it is pretty slow paced and concentrates on using your breath to calm your body down. This series is supposed to focus on flexibility mainly, as opposed to fast flows.

I'm happy with it. It's what I need at the moment as I'm going through a period of anxiety and sadness.

I think it's important to remember that everyone needs different things at different points in their lives.
