Does anyone else follow YWA?

What video/s of hers have you done recently?

Is anyone following her February calendar?

She calms me down and cheers me up at the same time. Much needed during this bloody miserable weather we are having. Does anyone know where the sunshine has gone?

Is anyone interested in using this as an accountability thread?

I’ll do some research @Pinkfluffypencilcase

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 27/02/2026 19:13

Amazing! Thank you.

looking forward to this as my core strength has disappeared to nothing!

I spent months doing cardio and heavy dumbbell sessions. And I wasn't losing weight. I was bloated and exhausted.

I decided to try yoga and the transformation both physically and mentally is just crazy.

I think my previous workout plans were causing elevated cortisol levels. And doing yoga fixed it.

I've lost more weight doing yoga than when I was doing cardio/dumbbells. And my anxiety levels are the lowest they've been for years.

I still do some cardio and dumbbells as it is beneficial, but 90% of my workout schedule is yoga and I am thriving 😊

Sorry to ask you a question rather than answer yours OP but I’m intrigued re the changes you’ve seen from yoga vs heavy lifting and cardio as I also haven’t seen any weight loss from either and it’s doing my head in. I’m 41, have a 3 year old DD, a couple of years post breast cancer diagnosis and since the treatment for that I cannot shift the extra stone that’s gone on. Lifelong runner but that’s not doing anything any more, have lifted weights for a few years too and all that seems to do now is aggravate my lower back 😩 I feel 100 years old. How much yoga are you doing now? Are you “good” at it in that you have a decent level of flexibility? I’m like Stick Man, it’s appalling how inflexible I am (which is why I’ve always given up on yoga as I feel I’m not able to do even the basics)

I feel incredibly stiff too since my (different) diagnosis. And I’m hoping yoga will open up that flexibility again. I did notice the 30 day series really does improve things. Slow but steady.

Firstly, sending you love and hugs re the Breast cancer diagnosis.

Secondly, I believe that everyone is different and there isn't a 'one size fits all' when it comes to exercise.

I am very sensitive to stress, so intense cardio and weights increases my cortisol levels and I end up feeling shit. Water retention, poor sleep, sugar cravings. All that crap. My lower back and knees do not like heavy weight lifting either.

I do however, do some upper body weight lifting twice a week, 20 mins max, as my body can tolerate that.

I do about 40 mins yoga during the week daily, and whatever I feel like on the weekend. I think that doing yoga has reduced my stress levels, calmed my parasympathetic system and that has a knock on effect where I don't crave comfort food. I am more in tune with my hunger signals, and I sleep better. So no craving carbs for quick energy after poor sleep.

As for flexibility, I was not flexible AT ALL. My flexibility and mobility has improved a lot. I'm still far from an elite gymnast style flexibility 🤣 but I can see improvement and I like it. It makes me feel good.

It seems Flow is the winner,no practices over 30 mins. I haven’t done it before so don’t know what it’s like. Has anyone?

No I haven’t either.
Happy with that if you are.

@Owlmoonstar your last post is inspiring about the benefits of yoga. I know when I was doing it regularly I felt calm.

Yogachick · 28/02/2026 13:13

@Owlmoonstar your story certainly resonates with me, it’s a lightbulb moment for sure. The sensitivity to stress is so significant but it’s taken you making this post & being so generous describing what is working for you to make it stick in my brain. I want to feel well and what I was doing even at the start of these posts made me feel good briefly but then made my body crash and fibro pain increase. Every single time. You would have thought I would realise at my age(60) but I couldn’t see another way. You’ve given me the gift of another way. I cannot thank you enough🌻

Yogachick · 28/02/2026 13:20

I’ve made a thread! I hope I’m not treading on @Owlmoonstar magical yoga toes x

I just wanted to apologise for the lack of responses, I don't seem to always get notifications. I will make sure I pop back on here more often to see how everyone is doing.

Today I did 20 mins power yoga on her channel. It was labelled intermediate. It was definitely one of the harder videos I've done. But it was fun! And I can tell I'm getting stronger.

I think I would have struggled a lot more with it back in October when I first began.

Amazing to hear your progress in a relatively short amount of time @Owlmoonstar . I definitely think lack of flexibilty is giving me ‘ old lady’ feelsI used to be mega bendy😞
Ritual Day 5- Detox for me today. Definitely makes me feel better.

I am 36. So i guess it's expected that my flexibility would improve faster than you. But I bet you will notice improvement faster than you imagine. Especially the hip flexors. That's where I noticed improvement the most

I’m on Day 3 of Flow. The inflammation my body holds onto seems to have reduced after only 15 days. This is the point where I usually think ooo I feel so much better let’s start doing some cardio and lifting heavy weights. But I’m not going down that road again, thanks to you @Owlmoonstar 🌻

No don't!

Your body clearly likes you doing yoga! It's great that you noticed a difference so soon. I did too. It's been life changing.

I was a lethargic, bloated slug before. And now I have a new sense of vitality!

I've just had an enforced period of time without yoga. We have been decorating the living room, including new floors and the back of the room is my yoga space. There isn't really anywhere else in the house that's suitable. I finally got my space back (and it's lovelier than ever now) this week after 8 days. I didn't get to the end of Prana before the work started so have restarted that from the beginning.

I never thought I'd be the type of person who would get frustrated over being unable to do yoga but I really do feel the benefits when I practice - and the problems when I don't.

Unfortunately we're about to have my mum move in for 3 weeks (minimum) while she recovers from an op so sadly I'm going to lose my space for a longer period of time. Am already planning a 30 day challenge to start once she leaves. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through this thread, which will also help remind me of the benefits so that I don't lose the momentum after her stay.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 05/03/2026 15:45

@AgentCooperdreamsofTibet
im on the 30 day yoga thread that yogachick kindly started. I don’t have a yoga space so I’m using the bedroom. It’s a bit awkward and I dream of a calm yoga space but it’ll do.

Which 30 day did you decide on?

AgentCooperdreamsofTibet · 05/03/2026 16:51

Not quite sure - I've now done them all at least once. Centre was the most recent, just after christmas.

Maybe Flow? Or Move?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 05/03/2026 16:59

We are doing flow now and I really appreciate it is under 30 minutes after a long break!

Yogachick · 05/03/2026 19:07

I did a strength workout this morning-30 mins, bit. Too long,I’m going to stick with 20 in future. As I’m being accountable for yoga I still got to my mat this evening and feel such huge benefit from doing it.
Do you have a space by your bed @AgentCooperdreamsofTibet ? Might be enough for a little practice, though I appreciate having visitors can limit our usual routines. We’ve had sunshine here today,if it continues to warm up I’ll be out in the garden practicing ,to my neighbours amusement.

In starting Move tomorrow. Hope I enjoy it! Some of the videos are closer to the 30 mins mark.

I did center previously.

I struggle alot with long seated mediation intros. My mind wanders and I get restless.

OP posts:
AgentCooperdreamsofTibet · 06/03/2026 09:32

Good point about the length of the videos. I also prefer practices around the 20 min mark. Flow seems better than Move in that respect, although the long practices in Move seem to be concentrated in the first week and they get shorter after that.

I also struggle with the long seated meditative intros. Weirdly I do like an actual meditation practice from time-to-time but that's fine because it's just that and I have signed up for it. When they happen at the start of a flow practice my mind wanders to what might be coming up next.

Last night I did the 15 minute Disciplined Core practice. It was tough and my abs are feeling pretty disgruntled this morning but I felt I needed something like that and am glad I did it. I actually followed that with the Prana Day 8 10 minute meditation and that was a perfect combination for me.

There's potentially just enough space at the foot of my bed but it's not just about the space but the time, as I know I'll be busy with mum. Plus she's pretty scathing about dippy hippies and their yoga and I can't really be bothered getting into that, so unless I can find discreet time, I think I'll be bowing out for a bit but looking forward to the 30 days once she leaves.

mimiasovitch · 06/03/2026 09:41

I’ve just read through this thread and it’s reminded me how much I love yoga with Adrienne, and I’m inspired to put on some leggings just as soon as I’ve had my second cup of coffee. I kind of fell
off the wagon as I started doing weights - I did enjoy feeling stronger but like many of you have said, no discernible weight loss. Plus I’ve have had an injury that, along with the accompanying sadness, has meant that I’ve been pretty inactive for a few months. I remember always feeling a deep sense of peace as I got on the mat and that’s exactly what I need.
My favourite was always the 45min deep stretch practice, but I think I’ll do do something a little more whole body today.

Yogachick · 06/03/2026 14:39

@AgentCooperdreamsofTibet o know what you mean about Mothers opinions I have the same. I admire you tremendously for looking after your Mum while she recuperates.
I enjoyed Move when I did it and got to Day 22 before falling off the wagon,a personal best for me I’m trying to beat with Flow this month. Move might be for next month!
