Does anyone else follow YWA?

What video/s of hers have you done recently?

Is anyone following her February calendar?

She calms me down and cheers me up at the same time. Much needed during this bloody miserable weather we are having. Does anyone know where the sunshine has gone?

Is anyone interested in using this as an accountability thread?

@Owlmoonstar makes me remember why Adriene is the best. Going to continue with the rest of the series to start with some consistency. It’s definitely what my body needs right now

Great news 😁

@Yogachick starting Ritual tomorrow for the first time. I used to do yoga regularly but have fallen off the wagon and really need to get back into it

Yogachick · 18/02/2026 18:40

Ritual Day 2- Stretch. I would recommend this series if anyone has the membership,I believe there’s a free 7 day trial,so you could have a look around? Did you start @Midlifeshenanigans ?

Midlifeshenanigans · 18/02/2026 19:09

I did Ritual Day 1 which was lovely thank you @Yogachick . I don’t know why I find it so hard to maintain a yoga habit when I feel so much better when I do

Gonefishingithink · 18/02/2026 19:12

I love her but have stopped doing it. I need to start again.

Yogachick · 19/02/2026 10:28

I know what you mean @Midlifeshenanigans ! I get in a rhythm then feel so good I think I can go back to weights/ cardio etc. Then I’m fine with that for a while, crash & burn, back to yoga, ooo I feel great now and so on. Inspired by @Owlmoonstar Im going to try & maintain a regular practice. I did Day 3- Core of Ritual this morning as the calendar offering seemed a bit quiet for me. And I feel fantastic, even though my core is weak & there was some balancing which I’m rubbish at. I feel renewed. I’ve found some more recommendations for practices I enjoy-Yoga to shift perspective/Balancing Ocean Flow/ yoga Joy/ Yoga for Transitions/Brain & Body Balance/Fill your Cup/ Change & Drain/ Yoga for healthy blood flow/ yoga for creativity/ find your centre. I’m checking out the Favourites that I’ve saved, most of Move & True seem to be on there as well. Hope that helps if anyone wants suggestions. And going back to OP I’m here for accountability!🌻

Amazing.
I have center day 15 + 16 lined up for today.

The center series is intended as one per day but nevermind 😉

Thank you so much for reminding me about her, I need to get into shape and have a gorgeous yoga mat I’ve barely used. I’m going to commit to some yoga later this afternoon/ evening and might try the neck and shoulders one as I have a lot of tightness in this area. It’s much more motivating having others who are also doing the same so thanks. ☺️👍🏻

Midlifeshenanigans · 19/02/2026 20:31

Did Ritual 2- stretch today which was just what I needed after a very difficult day.

MrsMitford3 · 19/02/2026 20:37

I did one of her 30 day yoga challenges and followed with a thread on here-it was great.
Maybe during lockdown?

I did fall away and have tried to start back up-I feel so so much better in my skin and just overall more toned and happy when I do it.

Even if I just do a quick one-there is a quick Core one that i really like-I add some balance stuff and a bit of planking to one of those and even if it's only 15/20 mins I know I can squeeze in before dog walk and feel good.

I think I tend to but barriers in the way-I don't have time/feel like getting changed etc and if I do it first thing then I have accomplished something!

Yogachick · 20/02/2026 10:49

@MrsMitford3 I mostly practice in my pjs before I get changed for dog walk. Might pop a sports bra on as well, that’s all.
@Midlifeshenanigans happy you’re feeling the benefit. How did your Centre practices go @Owlmoonstar ? I’ve never actually done Centre so am interested in your take. We can all motivate each other @ZeppelinTits ( magnificent user name btw)
Today for me was the Short Wake Up Flow from the calendar and Turn the Page meditation. I woke up full of shame about some of my past behaviours and I knew it would stick in my head if I didn’t turn the page. Letting go of the past I can’t change is needed for me

I'm enjoying Center. It's definitely accessible for all levels in my opinion.

The two I did yesterday were pretty gentle actually.
Day 17 + 18 planned for today so let's see how that goes.

I adore Adriene and Benji!

I'm on Day 5 of Prana at the moment and also did Centre throughout January.

I started going to yoga classes a few years ago (pre-covid). The first one I went to, I absolutely hated the instructor, who clearly had her clique of regulars and it felt like the rest of us were getting in the way. It was billed as a "complete beginner" class but clearly most of the group had been doing it for 10+ years and were doing headstands and all sorts while rolling their eyes at those of us who had come to a mat for the very first time and were trying to understand basic poses.

I then found a much better class with a lovely instructor but that wasn't long before covid and it never resumed.

I found Adriene during lockdown and usually try to do 2 videos (minimum) per week, and then a 30 day challenge 2-3 times per year. I do worry though about not getting feedback on technique - I have a slight disability which affects my knees. There are a few good Insta accounts which walk through adjustments which seem to work for me so I use these in conjunction with Adriene but still worry that I might be doing myself an injury.

I'm actually signed up for an in-person yoga retreat tomorrow - am equally excited and nervous. Hoping for a soothing instructor like Adriene.

Yogachick · 21/02/2026 20:45

A yoga retreat sounds exciting @AgentCooperdreamsofTibet - as an abstract for me as ,social anxiety. I hope it goes well for you.
Trust the Process from the calendar for me today. An evening practice, rare for me but the day has been busy from the get go. One worth doing, though the supported bridge crept to a supported shoulder stand for me,I love a gentle inversion and it definitely hit the FWFG brief.

Owlmoonstar · 22/02/2026 13:39

Center day 22 lined up for me later.

I'm looking forward to her releasing March calendar next Sunday.

Keeping up with the yoga ritual series. I’d love to go a retreat @AgentCooperdreamsofTibet. hope it goes well.

Gonefishingithink · 22/02/2026 16:41

Recommendations for yoga retreats would be most welcome!

Yogachick · 24/02/2026 07:57

Checking in for accountability. Did Shanti meditation from calendar on Sunday. I did intend to get an asana practice in later but the day got away from me. Monday was again from the calendar,I’ll pick up Ritual when I don’t fancy the calendar option. Yoga for self Doubt, that needs to go on my saved list ,short practice but needs repeating as I’m riddled with self doubt. Today’s Stretch & Core looks enticing so plan to do that. We have workmen in tearing the bathroom about so I think that will be later now. How’s it going for everyone?

AgentCooperdreamsofTibet · 24/02/2026 08:25

The retreat was good - at least for the main part. It was actually a mini-retreat - a full day of yoga and wellbeing rather than an overnight stay. I also have social anxiety so this was a real test for me. I was given a voucher as a present by a lovely and well-meaning friend but have been in a bit of a tailspin about it for the last couple of months. I've been intrigued by retreats for a long time though - my boss does these (proper 3 day shut off from the world) a few times a year and it appeals in a way.

This one was 6 hours in total. After arriving and doing basic introductions (no excruciating ice-breakers, thank goodness), we went straight into a 45 min sun salutation set. After that, we were encouraged to go for a walk in the fresh air for around an hour before back for another 30 min yoga followed by a guided meditation. After lunch we had a group discussion about what wellbeing means to us. Then a sound bath, followed by a further yoga session and extended shavasana before close.

The good aspects were that the instructor was wonderful. She was great at explaining the poses and working with everyone in a completely non-judgemental and individual way. I got really good feedback and advice on my adjustments, and just generally, she created a very calming atmosphere. The not-so-good side of things basically came down to the fact I was on my own. Everyone else had at least one friend with them and there was one group of 8 women who had come together. The instructor noticed this and really did her best to ensure I was included and to bring everyone together, but it really was quite cliquey and everyone wanted to stay with their own group. I shouldn't have minded as I generally like my own company but there was something about feeling on the periphery of it all, which left me feeling quite flat and sad for a couple of days afterwards. I was also around 20 years older than all the others and I couldn't help feel that this was a part of it - I was definitely getting some up and down looks from the young, lithe crowd, and at the beginning was asked/told several times that I might be in the wrong place - as if I was some doddery old woman who had wandered in by accident.

The yoga itself was good though - it started basic and gradually became more challenging throughout the day. Funnily enough, despite the above perceptions, I felt really gratified to notice that I was able to hold my balance and get into some poses that others couldn't - I know yoga is not competitive at all but part of me quite enjoyed some of the looks of surprise I was receiving.

Not sure if I'd do anything like that again, but I am glad I did it.

Yogachick · 25/02/2026 15:20

@AgentCooperdreamsofTibet it sounds like you got the best out of your retreat that you could. Kudos to the teacher but it’s the young lithe folk are disappointing-& one of my major fears about such things,as an overweight older bird. It’s good you don’t regret the experience x
stretch & core yesterday was hideous for me & most definitely won’t be repeated. I’ve just done today’s Mountain Flow ,ok but I think I prefer & benefit more from a longer practice,at least Ritual length. Day 9 of my streak🥳

Yogachick · 26/02/2026 19:08

Final Day 4-Oxygen for me today. I do love a Shining skull breath in the morning, really cleans my befogged brain out

Yogachick · 27/02/2026 18:20

Stupid chronic fatigue today so Heart meditation was chosen to maintain my streak. Turned out to be a nice meditation, one I will repeat. 11 days
Looking at next moths calendar it’s heavily dominated by Yoga Camp practices, for me ,they’re too long and wordy so think I’ll do one of the 30 days. I’m looking at True,Breath and Centre to choose from, with the odd calendar day that appeals thrown in.Anyone wanna join me?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 27/02/2026 18:22

Yes I will. I think with my condition I’ll only manage part sessions but hope to build that up.

I find I’m much more motivated in a group.

Yogachick · 27/02/2026 18:50

Any preference @Pinkfluffypencilcase ?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 27/02/2026 18:54

I’ve only done centre and I enjoyed that.
im happy to be led if you have a definite preference. I think 30 mins is my max. But I can always chunk it up.
